What to Look Out For at Tonight's Village Board Meeting

A workshop will be held at 7 p.m. tonight, prior to the board of trustees' meeting at 8 p.m. in the Glen Ellyn Civic Center.

7 p.m. Workshop:

A commission will discuss changes to an ordinance that could limit homeowners' ability to aesthetically change their properties. 8 p.m. Village Board Meeting: 

The board will vote to adopt the expenditure budget in the amount of $39.8 million for the 2011-2012 fiscal year, which begins May 1.

The expenditure budget consists of a total of 13 individual funds, which total $39.8 million. In comparison to last year’s fiscal budget of $42.3 million, this represents a decrease of $2.5 million or 5.9 percent, according to the village agenda packet.  Final copies of the adopted budget will be available for public review at the Civic Center, Glen Ellyn Public Library, and will soon to be online

Tonight the board will also vote to purchase multiple vehicles for the police department, estimated at $99,000. The board members will also vote to award a number of contracts ranging from $45,000 to $60,000 for various services around the village. For tonight's complete agenda packet click here
