Vote on Glen Ellyn Gas Station Delayed

Would the gas station raise the risk of cancer for people using the Butterfield Park District facility north of Butterfield Road?

A vote on a conditional-use permit for a controversial gas station in unincorporated Glen Ellyn has been pushed back, according to the Daily Herald.

The DuPage County Board's development committee decided Tuesday to delay a vote on a conditional-use permit after learning Buchanan Energy had requested extra time "to review aspects of the proposed development," according to the article.

The proposed 1.5-acre Mobil gas station, car wash and Bucky's convenience store is slated for northeast corner of Route 53 and Butterfield Road, according to an earlier Daily Herald article.
