The Glen Ellyn Village Board on May 28 will take action on a streetscape and parking study of downtown Glen Ellyn

Village has been working with a steering committee and the consultant team of Houseal Lavigne Associates, Gary R. Weber Associates, Walker Parking and Engineering Resource Associates on a downtown streetscape and parking study for the past few months.

At its April 10, 2013 meeting, the steering committee voted unanimously to recommended board's approval of the study.

The study will be presented to the Village Board at a workshop meeting at 7 p.m. on Monday, May 20.

The study is being funded by a $50,000 grant from the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning.

It’s just one of many projects the Village is undertaking to implement some of the recommendations in Glen Ellyn’s 2009 Downtown Strategic Plan. The proposed plan is the product of input received from the steering committee as well as a visual preference survey, two online questionnaires and a public open house.

The proposed study can be found on the project website which can be reached through the Village’s homepage at www.glenellyn.org.

The Village Board will meet Tuesday, May 28 at the Glen Ellyn Civic Center.
