ComEd will begin to install Smart Meters in the next 30 days for residents of Glen Ellyn (businesses to have Smart Meters installed in 2015). It is expected that the installation process will take several months. The following is what residents can expect related to installation:
Residents will be notified by mail when installations are scheduled for their area.
A uniformed meter installer from ComEd or Corix, a ComEd-authorized contractor, with appropriate identification will perform the installation at no cost to residents.
Installation typically takes about 10 minutes. Expect a brief interruption to your electric service.
