Road Improvements Expanded to Chidester and Elm Near Lake Ellyn

An estimated $80,000 has been budgeted out for the addition to a planned 2014 streetway-improvement project.

For a nearly $80,000 increase in a contract with firm RHMG Engineers, the 2014 road overhaul for Lenox Road and Linden Street near Lake Ellyn Park will now also include parts of Chidester Avenue and Elm Street in the same area, the Suburban Life reports.

According to the paper, work on Chidester and Elm—improving the roadway, sidewalk, drainage and sewers—will begin earlier in 2014 than those for Lenox and Linden—installing sidewalk and widening the roadway—which must be postponed until after the July 4, 2014 due to the Lake Ellyn 4th of July festivities.

The construction will be on Chidester and Elm between Lenox and Riford roads, the paper said.
