Public Invited to DuPage Disrict 4 Candidate Forum

Meeting will stream live Jan. 17 on County website.

The following is a message from DuPage County:

The public is invited to attend a Candidate Forum on Jan. 17, hosted by DuPage County Board Chairman Dan Cronin as he will interview 11 candidates who seek his nomination to fill the District 4 vacancy on the board. The public forum will stream live on the County website. 

“I’m very impressed by both the level of interest and the quality candidates this appointment has attracted,” said Cronin. “This forum represents a new approach to the appointment process that invites the public to apply and participate.”

The Candidate Forum will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17, at the Auditorium of the JTK AdministrationBuilding, 421 N. County Farm Road, Wheaton. For residents who are unable to attend the forum, the meeting will stream live on the County website at www.dupageco.org.

The forum will be moderated by County officials and candidates will have the opportunity to provide remarks as to why they are interested in serving on the County Board in addition to answering questions about County functions, policy and local issues.

The 11 candidates include, Ronald Almiron of Glendale Heights; William Bedrossian of Wheaton; Erin Birt of Wheaton; Alan Bolds of Wheaton; Amy Grant of Wheaton; Patricia Kermend of Glen Ellyn; Chris Levan of Winfield; David Molitor of Glen Ellyn; Nicholas Cipriano of Glen Ellyn; Kaaren Oldfield of Glen Ellyn; and Peter Ladesic of Glen Ellen.

Following the public forum, Cronin will select a nominee by the Jan. 24 County Board meeting.

The District 4 vacancy was created in December when County Board member Debra Olson resigned to accept a position as executive director of the DuPage Homeownership Center.
