Park District Board Seeks Citizen Advisory Committee

If you have a financial expertise the park board wants to hear from you.

Glen Ellyn Park District commissioners want you to help them map out the future.

The board is looking for residents to review all aspects of the district's finances and to help develop a long-range financial plan.

"The village just in the past year had a finance committee that kind of looked at their long-range financial planning and they had a lot of success," said Glen Ellyn Park District President Melissa Creech.

The two-year position will be voluntary and the commissioners are looking for five to six individuals who have a financial expertise. The committee will be approved by the current board and will hopefully be in place by July 1, according to Glen Ellyn Park District Vice President Jay Kinzler.

"A lot of people complain about property taxes, and people have issues about local government and how money is being spent. This is kind of a nice way to vent those frustrations," said Kinzler.
