Oxygen Masks for Pets Donated to Glen Ellyn Fire Company

"Having these on the ambulances and pumpers increases the likelihood that local pets will survive should they suffer smoke inhalation or other misfortunes," according to a Glen Ellyn Volunteer Fire Company press release.

Our four-legged friends in Glen Ellyn will be a bit safer following a donation of oxygen masks for pets to the local fire department.

Mary Blaney Humenansky of Glen Ellyn donated the oxygen masks on behalf of The Humenansky Family Foundation to the Glen Ellyn Volunteer Fire Company.

The masks will be placed on both the village ambulances and the fire company’s front line pumpers.

"Having these on the ambulances and pumpers increases the likelihood that local pets will survive should they suffer smoke inhalation or other misfortunes," according to the news release.

Along with the donation of the masks, the Fire Company received information on the proper use and care of the masks, according to a Glen Ellyn Volunteer Fire Company press release.

Local fire officials will also receive training on the proper use of the masks.
