Help Pick the New Village Manager

Candidates will make short presentations during tonight's town-hall meeting at the Civic Center.

The process for finding a new village manager is coming to a close. 

Tonight the village will host a town-hall meeting where village manager candidates will make short presentations and answer questions from residents and village officials. 

The village contracted Voorhees Associates, a public management recruitment firm, to assist with the search. Voorhees screened applicants and created a candidate profile to sort through applications, said Terry Burghard, Glen Ellyn’s interim village manager.

After interviewing village officials, the Voorhees Associates had an idea of who would make a good fit in Glen Ellyn. Then advertisements for the position were posted online, seeking candidates with a minimum of seven years experience in community organization. 

The village manager is appointed by and reports to the village board of trustees, who are elected at large to four-year staggered terms. The new board member will be required to reside within Glen Ellyn within the third year of tenure with the village and will earn an annual salary of approximately $140,000.
