Glen Ellyn Welcomes New Economic Development Coordinator

Meredith Hannah will be working with Village businesses and community groups to encourage growth in the Glen Ellyn commercial community.

The following is a release from the Village of Glen Ellyn:

The Village of Glen Ellyn will start a new era this fall with the appointment of a new Economic Development Coordinator. Meredith Hannah has been named to lead Economic Development efforts for the Village of Glen Ellyn.

Hannah brings with her over 10 years of municipal economic development and marketing experience while serving the Cities of Batavia and Elgin. In her positions with these communities, Hannah championed several efforts including the City of Batavia’s Tax Increment Financing Policy, downtown improvement grant, small business micro-loan program and award winning Real Estate Broker Tour. Hannah oversaw the creation of marketing materials in both communities including website redesign, implementation and utilization of social media, trade show materials and community marketing pieces to attract and educate businesses, real estate brokers and developers about the assets of each community.

The Economic Development Coordinator position handles a variety of responsibilities including working with current and prospective businesses, collaborating with developers and real estate brokers, and coordinating economic development activities that contribute to the vibrancy and vitality of the Village’s commercial districts. Hannah is looking forward to building relationships with business owners, colleagues, community groups, and the numerous boards and commissions that make Glen Ellyn such a wonderful place to live, work, and visit.

Hannah’s top priorities for the position include building relationships with the real estate broker and development community and enhancing Glen Ellyn’s presence in the business market as a place to do business through a variety of marketing efforts and media outlets.
