COD Omits Village Issues From Meeting Agenda

Even though the Village of Glen Ellyn has held numerous public meetings regarding the state of affairs with COD, the college will not do the same.

The budget for the 2012 fiscal year is slated to be adopted at the Board of Trustees meeting tonight.

In stark contrast to the village's many meetings, Joseph Moore, COD’s associate vice president of external relations, said the Village of Glen Ellyn will not be discussed at Thursday’s meeting.

Since news of the separation, the village has held numerous public meetings regarding COD's plans and recently adopted a new policy on how to handle the de-annexation issues with the college. 

When asked about the newly adopted , Moore said the college had no comment.

At the most recent village board meeting, trustees said they'd be traveling to COD to review buildings that are almost finished with construction. The trustees planned to meet with architects on site Wednesday to go over the safety of the buildings to make sure the buildings were up to code in order to issue certificates of compliance followed by certificates of occupancy. 

Although Moore did say that the college was working with the village to find an optimal date for the field meeting he mentioned that there are too many scheduling conflicts this week for the meeting to go through.

“We are doing our best to find a date that will work for everybody,” Moore said.
