A 22-year-old Woodridge woman was charged with driving under the influence after a two-car crash sent a teen to the hospital last week.
Stephanie Murray was arrested after the accident, which occurred at Roosevelt Road and Park Boulevard at 8:50 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, Glen Ellyn Police said.
A 17-year-old Lombard teen was hurt in the accident and was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, said Deputy Chief Bill Holmer.
Murray was heading westbound on Roosevelt Road and the teen was heading eastbound. Both of the drivers had green lights when Murray turned south onto Park Boulevard, colliding head on with the Lombard teen's vehicle, Holmer said.
The crash did cause the teen’s vehicle to start on fire, but the fire appeared to have been put out quickly, he said.
Murray was charged with failure to yield turning left and driving under the influence, Holmer said. Her bail was $3,000.
The intersection was closed for about an hour after the accident and traffic was diverted, Holmer said. Both vehicles had front-end damage and were towed from the scene.
