Woman Faces Probation, Community Service for Spraying Metra Conductor with Mace in Wheaton

Latoya Moore of West Chicago will perform 80 hours of community service and serve 18 months probation for spraying a Metra conductor in the face with mace last November, the Chicago Sun Times reports.

A DuPage County judge placed the Metra passenger who sprayed mace in a conductor's face in November on 18 months probation. She will also perform 80 hours of community service, the Chicago Sun Times reported Sunday.

Latoya Moore, 27, originally faced felony charges of aggravated battery to a protected class and one count of misdemeanor theft of services, police said. She was convicted last week of a battery charge, according to the Sun Times.

Police arrested the West Chicago woman Nov. 14 after with mace at the College Avenue train depot around 8:40 a.m.

Moore refused to show a conductor her ticket after she stepped off the eastbound Metra train at College Avenue. When a second conductor requested to see the ticket, she pulled the can of mace out of her purse and sprayed him in the face, according to a press release from the Wheaton Police Department.
