Woman Comes After Postman With Shovel

A female Wilmette resident who was upset at her mail carrier chased him down in the street with a shovel because he wouldn’t give her someone else’s mail, police said

Tracked down

Libertyville police said they saw a 22-year-old Libertyville man walking up a driveway and entering an unlocked vehicle. Police followed his tracks in the snow and found two other victims and several areas where it appeared he had approached the doors on vehicles, entry doors to garages and doors to private residences. He was arrested.

Hit and Run and Climb

An 18-year-old from Arlington Heights was in a car accident in Northbrook but continued driving for a bit. Police said he then stopped his vehicle and fled on foot. Police eventually located him on the third floor of an office building.

Never hire a cleaning company with an in-house appraiser

A Glenview resident reported that someone stole $82,000 worth of jewelry from their home. They suspect the cleaning company that had been at their home of the theft.

Fake ID, honest confession

Deerfield police pulled over a 20-year-old from Chicago for driving with only one headlight on and say they saw him try to hide a second driver’s license with another birth date on it. Asked why he had two drivers licenses, he said he acquired the out-of-state license when he moved to Chicago to attend college.
