Wheaton Students Center of Police Investigation for Texting Illicit Images, Posting to Web
Police are again investigating students at Edison Middle School for posting illicit images to social media sites, according to media reports.
For the second time in a month, police are investigating the posting of inappropriate images by students of Edison Middle School to social media sites, according to Suburban Life Publications.
In the most recent incident, which was brought to the Wheaton Police Department's attention on June 4, students are also accused of using text messages to share illicit pictures of an eighth-grade female student, according to the article.
Suburban Life Publications reports the recent incident is similar to one in May when students set up several social media accounts and shared "doctored images of Edison staff and students."
In the May case, two 14-year-old students were charged in juvenile court with three counts of harassment by electronic communications, four counts of obscenity and one count of transmission of obscene message, the Daily Herald. reports.
