VIDEO: Police Stake Out Dunkin' Donuts Rooftops in Glen Ellyn for Special Olympics

Police spent hours on the roof of Dunkin' Donuts in Glen Ellyn Friday as part of the 'cop on top' fundraiser for Special Olympics Illinois.

Customers at the Dunkin' Donuts in Glen Ellyn may not have been expecting a police officer to greet them in the drive-thru lane Friday morning, but people were happy to contribute to the "cop on top" fundraiser for Special Olympics. Officers collected funds at the drive-thru, as well as took turns spending time on the store's roof.

Hundreds of police officers from all over the Chicago area and throughout the state joined forces to raise money for Special Olympics Friday. From 5 a.m. to around 2 p.m., police climbed up to the rooftops of Dunkin' Donuts in their communities and spent hours there.

There is no Dunkin' Donuts in Glendale Heights, so officers from that police department staked out the rooftop of the Dunkin' Donuts on North Avenue in Glen Ellyn.
