Update: Police Still Investigating String of Residential Burglaries

Police said they are working leads.

Glen Ellyn police say they are still investigating a that occured last week, but say they still dont have any details they can release to the public.

"We're following some good leads," Deputy Chief Bill Holmer said on Thursday.

Police sent out a press release on Feb. 25, alerting residents to a string of break-ins police believe are related. In each case, single-family homes were targeted when the owners were not home. Police also said they believed credit cards and jewelry were sought by burglars.

Due to an ongoing investigation, Holmer said he could not say much, but told Patch that detectives were hard at work on the investigation and were pursing some strong leads. Holmer also said that the department was working with other police departments in neighboring communities to bring the case to a close.

Homes that police believe are connected are located on the 700 block of Meredith Pl., the 200 block of Bryant Ave., the 700 block of Riford Rd. and the 800 and 1000 block of Crescent Blvd.

Holmer also said police believe that another string of residential break-ins in , where a car was among items stolen, are not related to the recent rash of burglaries.
