Cell Phone Nabbed at Church, Possession, Public Indecency: Police Blotter

SUNDAY, JUNE 2

Underage drinking 

Daniel J. Beck, 18, of the 400 block of North West Street, Wheaton, was charged at 12:33 a.m. with illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor at Main Street and Hillside, police said.

Graffiti

Someone reported at 12:39 p.m. that an unknown person spray painted graffiti on the fencing for a ComEd station in the 800 block of Walnut Street.

SATURDAY, JUNE 1

Theft

A resident in the 400 block of Ridgeway reported the theft of a bush from the front yard, police said. The incident was reported at 3:31. The bush was valued at less than $500.

Criminal damage

It was reported at 11:12 a.m. than an unknown person removed a “Yield” sign at from Phillips and Hillside avenues, police said.
Someone removed several road signs at Park Boulevard and Anthony Street, police said. The incident was reported at 11:50 p.m.

FRIDAY, MAY 31

Warrant arrest

Police said Dejuan B. Hunt, 20, of the 200 block of Surrey Drive, was arrested at 2:59 p.m. in the 100 block of Surrey Drive. He was charged with resisting-obstructing an officer and on an original warrant for battery from Glendale Heights.

Possesion

Monet L. Reed, 24, of the 1200 block of South 15th Avenue, Maywood, was arrested at 11:58 p.m., police said. She was charged with possession of cannabis, 30 grams and under and possession of drug paraphernalia.

THURSDAY, MAY 30

Public indecency

Javier Salmeron Serafin, 23, of the first block of Main Street, Glen Ellyn, was charged at 1:45 a.m. with public indencency, police said.

TUESDAY, MAY 28

Possession

Police said Hunter M. Ferguson, 19, of the 500 block of Carleton Avenue, was arrested at 4:54 p.m. at Taylor and Walnut streets. He was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of drug equipment.

MONDAY, MAY 27

Theft

A Samsung cell phone was stolen from the men’s bathroom at the First Congregational Church, police reported. The theft was reported at 6:30 a.m. The phone was valued at less than $500.

SUNDAY, MAY 26

Underage drinking 

The following men were charged with illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor:
  • Michael O. Rigitono, 18, of the first block of Armitage Avenue, Glendale Heights
  • Robert J. Minniti, 19, of the 300 block of Hillcrest, Lombard
  • Walter G. Ortiz, 20, of the 500 block of Park Plaza, Glen Ellyn
The men were charged at 1:03 a.m. on the 500 block of Park Plaza, according to a report. Also charged was Luis F. Ortiz, 38, of the same block, with liquor law—occupant responsibility.
