Sugar in Your Gas Tank

Here's an item from the Glen Ellyn police blotter.

Police were dispatched to the 100 block of Park Blvd. on Feb. 18 after a resident reported that an unknown person put sugar in the gas tank of his vehicle. The resident told police that he believes the sugar was added between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.

Just so everyone knows, putting sugar in someone's gas tank is probably not as bad as you would think. It's actually a myth that it will turn to sludge in your engine and destroy your car. It will, however, present a pretty big inconvenience for the owner, and create a few bills.
