Siblings Arrested For Burglarizing Three Glen Ellyn Businesses

Two individuals from South Holland were arrested after a traffic stop on Geneva Road.

Police say siblings burglarized three Glen Ellyn businesses on Oct. 10 and were caught the same night after being pulled over for a traffic violation on Geneva Road. 

The two alleged burglars are siblings from South Holland and are accused of stealing electronics and cash from two salons and one restaurant.   

Kenneth W. Silva, 45, and his sister Renee M. Silva, 43, were both charged with possession of stolen property, and Kenneth was also charged with burglary, according to a statement from the

After being pulled over for a traffic violation, police arrested Kenneth for not having a valid driver's license. Officers then found $1,700 of cash in his pockets and additional evidence in the car, which officers say linked him and his sister to the burglaries at Vanity Salon, Dragon One and 2Q4U Nails.

Police suspect the two were also involved in similar incidents in neighboring communities. According to Deputy Chief Bill Holmer, a similar incident occurred in Winfield and Wheaton. The two were then transported to the DuPage County Jail.
