Wheaton Man Has Brush with Law 3 Times in 1 Week

Robert Walensa, 56, of Wheaton has found himself facing Glen Ellyn police three times from May 28 to June 2.

The first encounter happened May 28, when he was charged with criminal damage to property at 8 a.m. at 552 Crescent Blvd. because someone broke concrete flower pots and a concrete bench.

The following day, May 29, Walensa was facing a charge of criminal damage to property at 1:55 a.m. at Flour + Wine, 433 North Main St. when another flower pot, this one outside of the restaurant, was broken. He was arrested but later released without charges because the victim was unwilling to cooperate, said Deputy Police Chief Bill Holmer.

His most recent run-in resulted in a charge of criminal trespass to real property in the 400 block of Main Street at 1:49 a.m. June 2, which violated the conditions of his bond, said Holmer. Walensa was then taken to DuPage County Jail.
