Police Search for Armed Robber

An armed robbery occurred at Walgreens around 12:30 p.m., and the suspect remains at large.

Officers responded to an armed robbery at Walgreens, 324 Roosevelt Rd., at 12:30 p.m. today. 

Employees reported that a man brandishing a knife at the pharmacy counter was demanding a specific drug called "Opana ER," which is classified as a controlled substance, according to a news release from the police department.

Employees handed over about 50 pills and the man fled from the store. Nobody was hurt in the incident. The offender is described as as white male that weighs 185-200 pounds and is 5'10.'' The man was reportedly wearing a dark jacket, black baseball hat and has black hair and a black beard.
