Police Blotter: Woman Robbed in Broad Daylight

The following arrest information was supplied by the Glen Ellyn police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Consumption of alcohol by a minor: Officers responded to a report of a person lying on the corner of Duane and Main Streets on June 19 at 4:18 a.m. According to the report, a male juvenile was issued a citation for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor. 

Criminal damage to property: Officers responded to a property damage report at the Glen Ellyn Bible Church, 501 Hillside Ave., on June 20 at 8:37 a.m. According to the report, a complainant told officers that an unknown offender threw a rock through a second-floor window. 

Domestic battery: Officers responded to a domestic battery report in the 1100 block of Royal Glen Drive on June 20 at 5:41 p.m. According to the report, Mark S. Jacoby, 53, of the 1100 block of Royal Glen Drive, was charged with one count of domestic battery and transported to the DuPage County Jail.

DUI: Officers responded to the 7-Eleven, 803 N. Main St., on June 21 at 8:51 a.m. According to the report, John R. Speciale, 31, of the 300 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs and one count for possession of drug paraphernalia. 

Criminal damage to property: Officers responded to a disturbance in the 400 block of Phillips Avenue on June 21 at 2:35 p.m. According to the report, a complainant told officers that Erica N. Meadows, 25, of Ohio broke her flower pot. Meadows was charged with criminal damage to property and soliciting without a permit.

Theft over $300: Officers responded to reported theft at the AK Diamond Gallery, 632 Roosevelt Rd., on June 22 at 12:43 p.m. According to the report, an offender came into the store to look at a ring. The offender left with the ring but did not pay for the item. The case is under investigation. 

Robbery: Officers responded to a robbery at Lorraine and Duane Streets on June 22 at 2:41 p.m. According to the report, two unknown offenders approached the female victim and stole her purse. The case is under investigation. 

No valid driver's license: While on patrol, an officer performed a traffic stop near Roosevelt Road and Surrey Drive on June 22 at 11:14 p.m. According to the report, Eduardo Perez, 25, of the 500 block of Horne Street in St. Charles, was issued traffic citations for speeding, no driver's license, uninsured motor vehicle and issued a citation for possession of drug paraphernalia. Perez also had an in-state warrant for a failure to appear out of Barrington Hills. 

Retail theft: Officers responded to a theft at Walgreen's, 324 Roosevelt Rd., on June 22 at 11:36 p.m. According to the report, an unknown offender stole miscellaneous items. 

Theft under $300: Officers responded to the 600 block of Park Boulevard on June 23 at 7 a.m. According to the report, an unknown offender stole a yard sign from the front yard. Later that morning the complainant found it in the sewer. 

Theft under $500: Officers responded to a reported theft at Shear Pandemonia, 568 Crescent Blvd., on June 23 at 1:28 p.m. According to the report, an unknown offender stole a cell phone. 

Criminal damage to property: Officers responded to a damaged property report in the 200 block of Main Street on June 24 at 6:55 a.m. According to the report an unknown offender pushed over or dropped a large concrete flower pot in the front yard and removed a yard sign. 

DUI: While on patrol, an officer performed a traffic stop near Roosevelt Road and I-355 on June 24 at 2:30 a.m. According to the report, Steve D. Damian, 25, of the 100 block of Gale Steet in River Forest, was charged with driving under the influence and issued a traffic citation for improper lane usage. 

Theft under $300: Officers responded to a reported theft in the 700 block of Park Boulevard on June 24 at 1:48 p.m. According to the report, an unknown offender stole a yard sign from the front yard of the residence. 

Theft over $300: Officers responded to a reported theft at America's Best Value Inn, 677 Roosevelt Rd., on June 24 at 5:10 p.m. According to the report, an unknown offender stole a computer charger. 

Consumption of alcohol by a minor: While on patrol, an officer observed a male juvenile sitting on the playground equipment at Surrey Park, 95 Surrey Dr., on June 24 at 11:44 p.m. According to the report, the juvenile was issued a citation for consumption of alcohol by a minor. 

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia: While on patrol, an officer was "investigating a toolbox left unattended" on June 25 at 12:47 a.m. According to the report, the officer observed Carlos Castillo, 25, of the 1100 block of Surrey Drive, sitting in his vehicle. Castillo was then issued a citation for possession of drug paraphernalia. 

DUI: While on patrol, an officer performed a traffic stop near Geneva Road and Main Street on June 25 at 2:38 a.m. According to the report, William A. Reichert, 19, of the 800 block of Hillside in Elmhurst, was charged with driving under the influence and issued traffic citations for improper lane usage and failure to signal. 

Possession of a firearm without a FOID: Officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Surrey Drive on June 25 at 3:43 p.m. According to the report, Matthew J. Thornton, 40, of the 100 block of Surrey Drive, was charged with possession of firearms without a firearm owners identification card. 

Public intoxication/assault: Officers responded to a report of an intoxicated subject in the 400 block of Main Street on June 25 at 9:47 p.m. According to the report, Michael Anthony Jones, 46, of the 400 block of Main Street, attempted to hit an officer and was issued a citation for public intoxication and assault.
