Police Blotter: Vehicle Fire Leads to Arson Investigation

The following arrest information was supplied by the Glen Ellyn police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Arson: While on patrol, an officer observed a vehicle on fire at Arrow Transmission Service, 530 Roosevelt Rd., on June 16 at 3:50 a.m. According to the report, the Glen Ellyn Volunteer Fire Company arrived and extinguished the fire. The report did not list any offender information but stated the case is still under investigation. 

Possession of drug paraphernalia: While on patrol, an officer performed at traffic stop in the 800 block of Roosevelt Road on June 12 at 2:01 a.m. According to the report, Ashley N. Schildgen, 18, of Itasca was issued citations for improper lane usage, and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

Criminal trespass: Officers responded to a trespass report on June 12 at 5:14 a.m., near the railroad tracks at Walnut Street and Lowell Avenue. According to the report, Ryan E. O'Brien, 27 of Lombard was walking on the railroad tracks and was issued citations for public intoxication, criminal trespass to property and drug paraphernalia.

 Theft under $300: Officers responded to a theft in the 300 block of Anthony Street on June 13 at 3:56 p.m. According to the report, an unknown offender stole three children's scooters and two helmets from the storage shed. The estimated value of the missing items is $230. 

Theft under $300: Officers responded to a reported theft at McDonald's, 445 Roosevelt Rd., on June 12 at 7 p.m. According to the report, the complainant ordered food, left her purse on the counter and when she returned for the purse it was missing.

Theft under $300: Officers responded to a reported theft at Einstein Bagels, 443 N. Main St., on June 14 at 9 a.m. According to the report, an unknown offender stole a bicycle while it was in the back of the store. The report states the offender took the bicycle and exited the restaurant through a back door.

Theft under $300: Officers responded to Sunset Pool, 483 Fairview, on June 17 at 8 p.m. According to the report, an unknown offender stole an unlocked bicycle.  

Public intoxication: Officers responded to a complaint about an individual consuming alcohol in Panfish Park on June 14 at 9:40 a.m. According to the report, Robert L. Schnable, 50, of Wheaton was issued citations for public intoxication and open alcohol in public. 

Public intoxication: While on patrol, an officer observed a male urinating in the parking lot of the train depot, 551 Crescent Blvd., at 2:34 p.m. on June 12. Larry Bebo, 52, of Elmhurst was issued a citation for public intoxication and public indecency. 

Public intoxication: Officers responded to a complaint about an intoxicated person walking along Roosevelt Road on June 14 at 2:50 p.m. According to the report, Robert L. Schnable, 50, of Wheaton was issued a citation for public intoxication.

Public intoxication: Officers responded to a complaint of a subject sleeping on a bench on the west side of the Jewel located at 599 Roosevelt Rd., on June 13 at 2: 51 p.m. According to the report, Robert L. Schnable, 50, of Wheaton was issued a citation for public intoxication. 

DUI: While on patrol, an officer observed a male sleeping in his vehicle in the 800 block of Roosevelt Rd., on June 16 at 1:45 a.m. According to the report, Stephen A. Banas II, 24, of Winfield was charged with driving under the influence

DUI: While on patrol, an officer performed a traffic stop near Main Street and Emerson Street on June 15 at 1:31 a.m. According to the report, Jura Kim-Kevec, 23, of Lisle was charged with DUI and issued a traffic citation for disobeying a traffic control device. 

DUI: While on patrol, an officer performed a traffic stop near Roosevelt Road and Nicoll Way at 1:11 a.m. on June 12. According to the report, Craig M. Pettigrew, 20, of Wheaton was charged with a DUI and issued a traffic citation for improper lane usage. 

Disorderly conduct: Officers responded to a disturbance at Amoco, 339 Roosevelt Rd., on June 15 at 11:24 a.m. According to the report, Brian A. Redmond, 20, of Bloomingdale was issued a citation for disorderly conduct. 

Criminal damage to property: Officers responded to a damage report in the 900 block of Lenox Avenue on June 18 at 7:30 a.m. According to the report, an unknown offender damaged the mailbox. 

Criminal damage to vehicle: Officers responded to damaged vehicle report in the 300 block of Cedar Lane on June 18 at 12:30 p.m. According to the report, an unknown offender scratched the hood of a vehicle and dented the passenger side door. 

Criminal damage to property and motor vehicle: Officers responded damage reports in the 300 block of Greenfield Road and the 100 block of Hillcrest on June 19 at 4:30 a.m. According to the report, an unknown offender used spray paint on the garage doors. 

Burglary from motor vehicle: Officers responded to a burglary in the 100 block of Muirwood Drive on June 7 at 5:50 p.m. According to the report, an unknown offender entered the unlocked vehicle and stole a GPS system. 

Possession of hypodermic needle: Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Pennsylvania Avenue for a well-being check on June 18 at 12:44 p.m. According to the report, John R Speciale, 31, of Glen Ellyn was charged with possession of a hypodermic needle and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

Unlawful solicitation: Officers responded to a solicitor complaint on June 18 at 2:34 p.m. According to the report two females were issued citations for unlawful citation; Amanda L. Mikols, 20, of Wheaton; Monica N. Gough 23, of Texas.
