Police Blotter: Two Juveniles Set Off Homemade Device

The following arrest information was supplied by the Glen Ellyn police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Residential burglary: Officers responded to a burglary in the 200 block of South Lambert Street on June 7 at 5:50 p.m. According to the report, an unknown offender broke a window and entered the home. Miscellaneous items were taken from the home. The estimated loss was not provided and the case is under investigation. 

Burglary: Officers responded to a property report in the 800 block of Smith Avenue on June 7 at 5:50 p.m. According to the report, a complainant found a purse in his backyard, which belonged to a victim whose vehicle was broken into earlier in the day. The victim was contacted and the purse was returned. 

Theft under $300: Officers responded to a reported theft in the 100 block of Main Street on June 6 at 8 a.m. According to the report, an unknown offender stole several flowers and vegetables from a garden plot at the residence.

Theft over $300: A complainant came into the station to report a stolen yard sign from a residence in the 600 block of Crescent Boulevard. According to the report, the theft occurred sometime between June 5 at 11 p.m. and June 6 at 6 p.m. 

Unlawful discharge of a weapon: While an officer was on another call, he heard a large explosion near the 100 block of Main Street on June 6 at 5:25 p.m. According to the report, two male juveniles admitted to setting off a homemade device. Both were issued citations for unlawful discharge of a weapon.

Domestic battery: Officers responded to a battery report in the 1200 block of St. James Place on June 7 at 2:29 a.m. According to the report, Ashley M. Gilleran, 23, of Glen Ellyn, was charged with domestic battery and transported to the DuPage County Jail. 

Battery: Officers responded to a battery report at Ellyn's Tap and Grill, 940 Roosevelt Road, on June 5 at 1:20 a.m. According to the report, James R. Montesano, 31, of Glen Ellyn, struck a woman in the face and was charged with battery. 

Possession of alcohol by a minor: While on patrol, an officer observed a 16-year-old male juvenile drinking a bottle of beer in the 100 block of Spring Avenue on June 8 at 4:48 p.m. The minor was given a citation for possession of alcohol by a person under 21. 

Possession of alcohol by a minor: While on patrol, an officer observed Jeffrey T. Gragg Jr., 20, of Oklahoma, carrying a bottle of beer on June 8 at 4:48 p.m., in the 600 block of Roosevelt Road. Graff was issued a citation for possession of alcohol by a minor. 

Public intoxication: Officers responded to an intoxicated male on June 9 at 3:08 a.m., at Panfish Park. According to the report, Bradley J. Earls, 49, of Carol Stream, was issued a citation for public intoxication.

Public intoxication: Officers responded to a Ace Hardware, 485 Roosevelt Road, on June 7 at 2:11 p.m. According to the report, Jose L. Ortiz, 39, of Wheaton, refused to leave the store and was issued a citation for public intoxication. 

Unlawful solicitation: Officers responded to a solicitor complaint near Roosevelt Road and Royal Glen Drive on June 5 at 1:17 a.m. According to the report, Aaron Michael Miller, 20, of California, came to the complainant's door without a proper permit. Miller was issued a citation for unlawful solicitation. 

No valid driver's license: An officer performed a traffic stop near Park Boulevard and Roosevelt Road on June 9 at 10:15 p.m. According to the report, Eder E. Galicia, 25, of Glen Ellyn, was operating a vehicle without a valid driver's license, an expired registration and an uninsured vehicle. Galicia was given citations for all three offenses. 

Damage to motor vehicle: Officers responded to a damaged vehicle report in the 1100 block of Brighton Place on June 6 at 7:40 p.m. According to the report, an unknown offender shattered the rear window of a vehicle. 

Criminal damage to vehicle: Officers responded to a damaged vehicle report in the 400 block of Raintree Drive on June 8 at 3:08 p.m. According to the report, Nefertiti Taylor, 20, of Glen Ellyn, scratched a vehicle and left several marks. Taylor was issued a citation for criminal damage to a vehicle.

Criminal damage to property: Officers responded to a damage report in the 100 block of Brandon Avenue on June 10 at 10 a.m. According to the report, an unknown offender broke the rear window of the vehicle. No items were reported missing. 

Criminal damage to property: Officers responded to a damaged property report in the 100 block of Sunset Avenue on June 10 at 1:32 a.m. According to the report, an unknown offender broke out a bedroom window. 

DUI: An officer performed a traffic stop near Roosevelt Road and Nicoll Way on June 10 at 12:59 a.m. According to the report, Jacob R. Cimino, 22, of Glen Ellyn, was charged with a DUI and issued a traffic citation for speeding. 

DUI: An officer performed a traffic stop near Lambert Road and Marston Avenue on June 9 at 12:25 a.m. According to the report, Jason A. Ebbole, 28, of Iowa, was charged with driving under the influence and issued traffic citations for failure to signal, using an election communication device while driving and disobeying a signal device. 

DUI: An officer performed a traffic stop near Taft Avenue and Main Street on June 11 at 3:01 a.m. According to the report two Glen Ellyn residents, Nicolas J. Amato, 20, and Thomas E. Bulawn, 19, were given citations for possession of cannabis and drug paraphernalia. Amato was also charged with driving under the influence and issued a traffic citation for improper lane usage.

DUI: While on patrol, an officer performed a traffic stop near Roosevelt Road and Royal Glen Drive on June 5 at 1:17 a.m. According to the report, Nicola V. Dinardo, 44, of Joliet, was charged with driving under the influence and issued traffic citations for improper lane usage and operating and uninsured motor vehicle.
