Police Blotter: Thefts and Vandalism

The following arrest information was supplied by the Glen Ellyn Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Criminal damage to vehicle: Officers responded to a damage report in the 200 block of Sunset Avenue on July 4 at 9:51 a.m. According to the report, an unknown offender scratched through the paint on the vehicle. 

Theft under $500: Officers responded to a theft in the 500 block of Lee Street on July 6 at 9 a.m. According to the report, an unknown a offender stole a yard sign from the residence sometime between July 4 at 11 p.m. and July 6 at 9 a.m. 

DUI: While on patrol, an officer performed a traffic stop at Forest and Pennsylvania Avenues on July 5 at 10:55 p.m. According to the report, Edgar U. Vierya, 18, of the 4700 block of Peacock Lane in Plainfield, was charged with a two count complaint for driving under the influence. Vierya was also issued a traffic citation for disobeying a stop sign.

Theft under $500: Officers responded to a reported theft in the 600 block of Kenilworth Avenue on July 6 at 9 a.m. According to the report, an unknown offender stole a hammock, estimated at $100, from the backyard sometime between July 5 at 7 p.m. and July 6 at 9 a.m. 

Domestic battery: Officers responded to a physical dispute in the 100 block of Briar Street on July 6 at 6:15 p.m. According to the report, Manuel Davalos-Perez, 45, of the 100 block of Briar Street in Glen Ellyn, was charged with a four count complaint for domestic battery and transported to the DuPage County Jail.

Theft under $500: Officers responded to a reported theft at Sunset Pool, 483 Fairview Ave., on July 7 at 6:02 p.m. According to the report, an unknown offender stole an unlocked bike, estimated at $300, from a bicycle rack. 

Theft under $500: Officers responded to a theft report in the 400 block of of Taylor Avenue. According to the report, an unknown offender stole a yard sign from the residence sometime between 8 and 5:30 p.m. on July 7. 

Criminal defacement: Officers responded to a vandalism report at Hadley Junior High School, 240 Hawthorne Blvd., on July 8 at 7:30 a.m. According to the report, an unknown offender spray painted graffiti on a door sometime between 2:30 p.m. on July 7 and 7:30 a.m. on July 8.
