Police Blotter: Numerous stolen items

The following arrest information was supplied by the Glen Ellyn Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Theft under $500: Officers responded to a reported theft in the 300 block of Marion Avenue on July 16 at 12 p.m. According to the report, an unknown offender removed a solar paneled sign that displayed the house numbers. The incident occurred sometime between 12 p.m. on July 15 and 12 p.m. on July 16.  The sign is estimated at $50. 

Theft under $500: Officers responded to a reported theft at Village Links, 485 Winchell Way, on July 16 at 7 p.m. According to the report, a complainant left her purse at the restaurant and when she returned it was gone. The incident occurred sometime between 7 p.m. on July 15 and 7 p.m. on July 16.

Theft under $500: While on patrol, near Cantina, 499 Pennsylvania Ave., a complainant advised an officer that an unknown offender stole her iPod Touch from her purse while she was at work on July 15 from 4 p.m. to 10:20 p.m.

Theft under $500: A complainant reported that an unknown offender stole a Razor scooter from the front porch of a home in the 500 block of Hawthorne Blvd., sometime between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. on July 14. 

Criminal defacement: While on patrol, an officer observed vandalism at the Metra Train Depot, 555 Crescent Blvd., along the east windowsill of the building. The Glen Ellyn Public Works Department was notified to have it removed.

Criminal defacement: Officers responded to a graffiti report at the Taylor Avenue underpass, near Taylor Avenue and Walnut Street, on July 14 at 1:25 a.m. According to the report, an officer spotted graffiti on the pedestrian bridge. The Glen Ellyn Public Works Department was notified to have it removed. 

Criminal damage to vehicle: Officers responded to a damage report in the 100 block of Sunset Avenue on July 15 at 3 a.m. According to the report, an unknown offender threw a large rock at the rear window of the vehicle, which caused it to shatter. The incident occurred sometime between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m. on July 15. 

Possession of cannabis: Officers responded to a report of a juvenile with cannabis on July 14 at 6:47 p.m. in the 300 block of Kenilworth Avenue. According to the report, an officer made contact with the juvenile and then notified his parents. A juvenile officer is now involved in enforcement action with the juvenile.
