Police Blotter: Numerous Damaged Cars

The following arrest information was supplied by the Glen Ellyn Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Criminal damage to property: Officers responded to a damage report in the 100 block of Briar Street on July 23 at 9:30 a.m. According to the report, an unknown offender attempted to remove the bed frame of a truck. The damage caused is estimated at $300. The incident occurred sometime between 10 p.m. on July 22 and 9:30 a.m. on July 23. 

Burglary from motor vehicle: Officers responded to a burglary report near Walnut Street and Lowell Avenue on July 18 at 7:20 p.m. According to the report, an unknown offender broke the side passenger window and stole purses that were left in the locked vehicles. The report does not indicate how many purses were stolen or exactly how many cars were broken into as a result of the thefts. 

Criminal damage to vehicle: Officers responded to a damage report in the 100 block of Briar Street on July 17 at 7:10 a.m. According to the report, an unknown offender broke the rear window of the car. Nothing was reported missing.

Criminal damage to vehicle: While investigating another incident, an officer observed a broken rear window of vehicle in the 1100 block of Heather Lane on July 12 at 8 a.m.. According to the report, an unknown offender used a rock to break the rear window. The rock was found inside the vehicle. Nothing was reported missing. 

Criminal damage to vehicle: Officers responded to a damage report in the 600 block of Roosevelt Road on July 24 at 6 p.m. According to the report, an unknown offender jumped on the hood of the vehicle, which left two dents.

Theft over $500: Officers responded to a theft in the 600 block of Lambert Road on July 23 at 5 p.m. According to the report, an unknown offender came into the Lord's Church and stole a laptop computer from an office in the building. The estimated loss is $500. 

Theft under $500: Officers responded to a reported theft in the 500 block of Hill Avenue on July 17 at 10:59 p.m. According to the report, an unknown offender stole a yard sign from the front yard of the residence. 

Possession of cannabis: While assisting on a previous call, an officer made contact with a juvenile at Newton Park, 707 Fairview Ave., on July 18 at 7 p.m. According to the report, the juvenile was issued citations for possession of cannabis and possession of drug equipment. 

No valid driver's license: While on patrol, an officer performed a traffic stop near Roosevelt Road and Exmoor Avenue on July 17 at 12:39 a.m. According to the report, Roque Ochoa, 19, of the 100 block of Roosevelt, Wheaton, was issued traffic citations for improper lane usage and no valid driver's license.
