Police Blotter: Intoxicated Male Arrested for Battery, Resisting Police Officer

The following arrest information was supplied by the Glen Ellyn Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Burglary to motor vehicle: A complainant came into the police station to report a burglary to a motor vehicle. According to the report, an unknown offender stole a brief case, which contained an i-Phone charger and other miscellaneous items, from an unlocked vehicle in the 500 block of Wilson Avenue. The theft occurred sometime between 11:59 a.m. on July 7 and 7:15 a.m. on July 8. 

Driving with suspended license: While on patrol, an officer performed a traffic stop near Taft Avenue and Park Boulevard on July 8 at 11:55 a.m. According to the report, Jamie A. Wetzel, 25, of the 600 block of Roosevelt Road in Glen Ellyn, was issued traffic citations for driving with a suspended license and for driving an uninsured motor vehicle. Wetzel was transported to the DuPage County Jail on three warrants out of DuPage County. 

DUI: While on patrol, an officer performed a traffic stop near Main Street and Fairview Avenue on July 8 at 2:40 p.m. According to the report, Anthony R. Ursua, 25, of the 2S600 block of Ave Latours in Oak Brook, was charged with one count complaint for driving under the influence of an intoxicating compound and issued a traffic citation for improper lane usage.

Possession of cannabis: While on patrol, an officer performed a traffic stop near Western and Pennsylvania Avenues on July 9 at 4:21 a.m. According to the report, Nathaniel C. Cameau, 19, of the 8600 block of Josephine Lane in Des Plaines, was issued a warning for driving without taillights. Cameau was also issued a citation for possession of cannabis. 

Resisting peace officer/battery: Officers responded to a report of an intoxicated subject in the 600 block of Newton Avenue on July 4 around 7:15 a.m. According to the report, Joseph S. Lipari III, of the 100 block of Stableford Drive in Glen Ellyn, was charged with a three count complaint for battery and resisting a peace officer. Lipari was also issued a citation for public intoxication.

Theft under $500: Officers responded to a reported theft in the 700 block of Crescent Boulevard on July 4 at 2:18 p.m. According to the report, an unknown offender stole a yard sign from the residence. 

Criminal damage to property: Officers responded to a damage report at Ben Franklin School, 350 Bryant Ave., on July 5 at 9 a.m. According to the report, six exterior light fixtures on the west side of the building were damaged. The complainant advised officers that the damage occurred sometime between 8 a.m on July 4 and 9 a.m. on July 5. 

Theft under $500: Officers responded to a reported theft in the 500 block of Taylor Avenue on July 3 at 10:45 p.m. According to the report, an unknown offender stole a yard sign from the residence. 

Theft under $500: Officers responded to a reported theft in the 700 block of Euclid Avenue on July 3 at 11:15 a.m. According to the report, an unknown offender stole two tables from the backyard of the residence. The loss is estimated at $150.
