Police Blotter: Graffiti, Urinating in Public, Shoplifting

The following arrest information was supplied by the Glen Ellyn Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Public intoxication: While on patrol, an officer made contact with an individual at the Stewart parking lot on Aug. 4 at 10:34 p.m. According to the report, Augustino M. Hernandez, 49, of the 500 block of Gregory Avenue, Glendale Heights, was issued a citation for public intoxication. 

Theft: Officers responded to a reported theft on Aug. 5 at 10 a.m. According to the report, an unknown offender stole an undisclosed amount of candy out of a vending machine from 470 Kenilworth Ave. 

Criminal defacement of property: While on patrol, an officer observed a blue smiley face spray painted on a grade warning street sign on Aug. 5 at 10:21 a.m. According to the report, the graffiti was located on the west side of Park Boulevard near Anthony Street. The officer also observed the same defacement on a one-hour sign located on the east side of Forest Avenue near Cottage Avenue.

Theft under $300: Officers responded to a reported theft on Aug. 5 at 4:30 p.m. According to the report, an unknown offender stole a bicycle from a bike rack at the train depot, 555 Crescent Boulevard. 

Criminal damage to property: Officers responded to a damage report on Aug. 4 at 9 a.m. in the 500 block of Roosevelt Road. According to the report, an unknown offender threw a rock through the rear window of a vehicle.

Criminal damage to property: Officers responded to a damage report in the 300 block of Pennsylvania Avenue on Aug. 4 at 1:30 p.m. According to the report, an unknown offender keyed the rear bumper of a vehicle. 

Retail theft: Officers responded to a shoplifting report involving two Glen Ellyn juveniles on Aug. 4 at 7:10 p.m. at 460 N. Main St. According to the report, the two Glen Ellyn juveniles were released to their parents. 

Public indecency: While on patrol, an officer observed a male urinating at a parking lot in the 600 block of Roosevelt Road on Aug. 4 at 7:12 p.m. According to the report, Albert Harold Rowlett, 61, of the 700 block of Liberty Street, Wheaton, was issued a citation for public indecency. 

No valid driver's license: While on patrol, an officer performed a traffic stop near Park and Fawell Boulevards on Aug. 2 at 4 p.m. According to the report, Audrey E. Collins, 20, of the 1700 block of Felton Road, Aurora, was issued traffic citations for no valid driver's license and speeding. 

Public intoxication: While on patrol, an officer observed an intoxicated male near the 1200 block of Roosevelt Road on Aug. 3 at 2:25 a.m. According to the report,  Robert V. Lascio, 35, of the 1100 block of Royal Glen Drive, Glen Ellyn, was issued a citation for public intoxication. 

Retail theft: Officers responded to a reported theft at 840 N. Main Street on Aug. 2 at 9:27 p.m. According to the report, an unknown offender exited the store with unspecified items without paying for them. The offender was described as a white male in his 20s, dark hair, average build, wearing a white t-shirt and black jeans. The estimated loss is unknown. 

Theft over $500: Officers responded to a reported theft at the train depot, 555 Crescent Blvd., on Aug. 3 at 7:46 p.m. According to the report, an unknown offender stole a bicycle from the bike rack on the west side of the train depot. The estimated loss is valued at $1,000.
