Police Blotter: DUI, Warrant Arrest, Take the Grill and Run

SUNDAY, AUG. 26

Driving under the influence

Tracy A. Parks, 46, of the 1900 block of Sunnydale Lane, Lisle, was arrested at 1:41 a.m. at Roosevelt Road and I-355, said. She was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and failing to signal when required.

Criminal damage

Police said a resident in the 400 block of St. Moritz Drive reported at 2:30 a.m. a front window was broken with an unknown object.

Theft

A resident in the 400 block of Stagecoach Run reported at 6:55 p.m. that a grill was stolen from the backyard, police said. The grill did not belong to the homeowner; it was a rental from the Glen Ellyn Park District.

SATURDAY, AUG. 25

Unlicensed

Ashley M. Gaffney, 21, of the 700 block of West Forest Avenue, West Chicago, was arrested at 2:04 a.m. at Roosevelt and Lorraine roads, police said. She was charged with improper lane use, driving without a license and failing to secure a child under 8 years old.

FRIDAY, AUG. 24

Warrant arrest

Police said Alec A. Lehmann, 46, of the 400 block of Taylor, was arrested at 12:32 p.m. at Route 53 and Spring Avenue. He was charged on an in-state warrant, attempted obstruction of justice, driving while his license was suspended and with an equipment violation for one red taillight.

Panhandling

Addie J. Ward, 44, of the 0-99 block of Greenwood Street, was arrested at 5:40 p.m. at Taco Bell, 370 Roosevelt Road, police said. She was charged with panhandling.

Theft

A diner at the Patio, 552 Crescent Blvd., reported at 4:45 p.m. a cellphone was stolen. The phone had been left on a table, police said. The phone was valued at less than $500.

THURSDAY, AUG. 23

Theft

Michael J. Rooney, 36, of the 2 S 700 block of Grove Lane, Warrenville, was arrested at 8:36 p.m. at Roosevelt Road and I-355, police said. He was charged with theft of property.

Criminal damage

A resident reported at 7:25 p.m. that someone broke an exterior door on a vacant home in the 200 block of Elm Street, police said.

WEDNESDAY, AUG. 22

Driving under the influence

Michelle J. Bahena, 27, of the 1000 block of Cernan Drive, Bellwood, was arrested at 2:53 a.m. at Roosevelt Road and Royal Glen Drive, police said. She was charged with speeding and driving under the influence of alcohol.

TUESDAY, AUG. 21

Vehicle burglary

  • Someone in the 100 block of Briar Street reported that an unknown person forced entry to a work truck between 5:30 p.m. Monday and 8 a.m. Tuesday. Tools were stolen from the truck while it was parked in a lot, police said. The estimated value of the items taken was $900.
  • A resident in the 600 block of Hillside Avenue reported a vehicle was burglarized sometime between 6 p.m. Monday and 7 a.m. Tuesday, police said. Someone stole a backpack from inside the vehicle. The backpack contained various items, none of which were specified in the report.

Parking citations

Glen Ellyn police cited a resident in the 1100 block of Londonberry Lane for improperly storing vehicles, according to police reports. Officers made the call at 11:38 a.m. and spoke with the homeowner, who they said had several vehicles parked illegally on the property.

Theft

Police said someone reported that two bicycles that were left locked to a fence at Lake Ellyn Park were stolen. The report was made at 4:35 p.m. The bikes were valued at less than $500.

MONDAY, AUG. 20

Driving under the influence

Police said Katlin Layne Music, 27, of the 1400 block of Ellisville, Schaumburg, was arrested at 12:57 a.m. at Roosevelt Road and Royal Glen Drive. She was charged with driving under the influence and speeding.
