Police Blotter: DUI, Paraphernalia Possession and Purse Gets Pilfered

SUNDAY, DEC. 23

Driving under the influence

  • Jasmin Zukancic, 25, of the 1000 block of East Wilson Avenue, Wheaton, was arrested at 3:45 a.m. at I-355 and Roosevelt Road, Glen Ellyn Police said. He was charged with driving under the influence, driving an uninsured motor vehicle and disobeying a traffic control signal.
  • Police said Shawana A. McLaurin, 30, of the 30 W 000 block of Dogwood Court, Warrenville, was arrested at 3:35 a.m. in the 500 block of Roosevelt Road. She was charged with driving under the influence, improper lane usage, driving without a valid license and driving an uninsured motor vehicle.
THURSDAY, DEC. 20

Suspended license

Teresa Gillespie, 43, of the 3500 block of West Lexington Street, Chicago, was arrested at 7:21 a.m. at Roosevelt Road and Briar Street, police said. She was charged with driving an uninsured motor vehicle, driving while her license was suspended and speeding.

WEDNESDAY, DEC. 19

Retail theft

Ahmed Z. Mahdi, 27, of the first block of Ann Street, Lombard, was arrested at 6:47 p.m. at Dominick’s, 880 Roosevelt Road, police said. He was charged with retail theft – shoplifting. Police reports did not specify the items stolen.

Vehicle burglary

Police said a purse left inside an unlocked vehicle in the 200 block of Hill Drive was stolen some time between 12:15 a.m. and 12:52 p.m. The purse was stolen while the car was parked in a driveway. Contents of the purse were not disclosed in the report.

TUESDAY, DEC. 18

Resisting an officer

Police said Craig M. Pettigrew, 21, of the 1900 block of Briarcliffe Boulevard, Wheaton, was arrested at 9:41 p.m. in the 900 block of Roosevelt Road. He was charged with driving under the influence, criminal damage to property and resisting/obstructing an officer.

Paraphernalia

Alicia Marie Mingucci, 22, of the 300 block of Cumnor, was arrested at 4:33 a.m. in the 300 block of Cumnor, police said. She was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Theft

A Glenbard West student reported that while on a school bus, an iPod was stolen from a backpack. The report was made at Glenbard West High School, 670 Crescent Blvd., and occurred between 7:20 and 7:40 a.m. The iPod was valued at less than $500.
