Police Blotter: 6 Charged With DUI, 2 Cited for Illegal Consumption of Alcohol

The following arrest information was supplied by the Glen Ellyn Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

DUI: Gilberto S. Garcia, 22, of Glen Ellyn was charged with driving under the influence on Nov. 27 at 1:54 a.m. in the 400 block of Fawell Boulevard. According to the report, Garcia was issued traffic citations for improper lane usage, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and possession of cannabis.

DUI: William L. Sarnecki, 40, of Carol Stream was charged with driving under the influence on Nov. 27 at 11:10 p.m. near St. Charles and Riford Roads. According to the report, Sarnecki was also issued citations for improper lane usage and driving an uninsured motor vehicle. 

DUI: Marcus A. Montgomery, 35, of Lafox, was charged with driving under the influence on Nov. 28 at 2:33 p.m. near Pershing Avenue and Roosevelt Road. According to the report, Montgomery was also cited for equipment violation and improper lane usage. 

DUI: Nicholas A. Nagle, 22, of Wheaton, was charged with driving under the influence on Nov. 26 at 3:11 a.m. near Roosevelt and Lorraine Roads. According to the report, Nagle was also issued a citation for speeding.

DUI: Andrew J. Turner, 19, of Glendale Heights, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs on Nov. 29 at 1:59 a.m near Bloomingdale and St. Charles Roads. According to the report, Turner was also cited for following too closely and improper lane usage. 

DUI: Joseph P. Sickles, 40, of Glen Ellyn, was charged with driving under the influence on Dec. 1 at 1:15 a.m. near Pennsylvania Avenue and St. Moritz Drive. According to the report, Sickles was also cited for improper lane usage, improper turn at an intersection and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

Consumption of alcohol by a minor: Samuel G. Bent, 18, of Glen Ellyn was cited for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor on Nov. 29 at 4 a.m. at the Glen Ellyn Police Station, 535 Duane St. 

Consumption of alcohol by a minor: Scott A. Anderson, 19, of Wheaton was cited for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor on Nov. 30 at 10:18 a.m. According to the report, officers were dispatched to Montclair Avenue and Spalding Court for a report of a suspicious person. 

Possession of cannabis: Richard C. Coleman, 54, of Wheaton, was cited for possession of cannabis while in the Montclair parking lot on Nov. 29 at 8:57 p.m. According to the report, officers were dispatched to the area for a suspicious person report. 

Possession of cannabis: Franklin L. McKillian, 42, of Chicago, was cited for possession of cannabis and a signal violation near I-355 and Roosevelt Road on Dec. 3 at 11:49 p.m. 

Burglary to motor vehicle: An unknown offender broke into a vehicle and stole a radar detector in the 400 block of Ramblewood Drive on Nov. 27 sometime between 12 a.m. and 8:59 a.m. 

Retail theft: An unknown offender stole a 12-pack of beer from the 7-Eleven, 803 N. Main Street, on Nov. 28 at 2:40 a.m.

Criminal damage to property: An unknown offender threw a child’s power wheel toy onto the hood of a car in the 100 block of Sunset Avenue on Nov. 28 at 12:30 a.m. According to the report, the vehicle was parked in the driveway of the complex building.

Criminal damage to property, theft: An unknown offender broke the gas tank lock and gas was stolen from a vehicle in the 100 block of Parkside Avenue sometime between 7 p.m. on Nov. 28 and 8:30 a.m. on Nov. 29. According to the report, the vehicle was parked near the condominium building on Parkside.

 No valid driver’s license: Luis F. Ortiz-Cortes, 36, of Glen Ellyn, was issued traffic citations for no valid driver’s license and improper lighting on Nov. 30 at 1:39 a.m. near Roosevelt Road and Nicoll Way.

Theft: A cell phone was reported stolen from a gym locker at Glenbard West High School, 670 Crescent Blvd, on Nov. 30 at 9:30 a.m.

Criminal defacement: An unknown offender vandalized the women’s restroom with graffiti at the Lake Ellyn Boathouse, 645 Lenox Rd., on Nov. 30 around 11:01 a.m.

Criminal damage to property: An unknown offender scratched the side of a vehicle parked in a parking lot in the 100 block of Nicoll Avenue on Nov. 30 sometime between 8:45 a.m. and 8:20 p.m.

Domestic battery: Valentin Carlos, 45, of Glen Ellyn, was charged with domestic battery and transported to DuPage County Jail from the 100 block of Briar Street on Dec. 1 at 3:45 p.m.

Burglary to motor vehicle: An unknown offender entered an unlocked car in the 300 block of Ramblewood Drive and stole miscellaneous items sometime between 10 a.m. on Dec. 1 and 9 a.m. on Dec. 2.

Theft: An unknown offender stole personal paperwork out of a backpack while at the PADS site, 500 Anthony St., on Dec. 1 at 11 p.m.

Theft: An unknown offender stole a three-foot, artificial Christmas tree from the front yard of a residence in the 600 block of Park Plaza sometime between 10:30 p.m. on Dec. 3 and 8:30 a.m. on Dec. 4.
