Police Blotter: 13-Year-Old Brings Alcohol to School, Dairy Queen Thief Steals $4,500 in Refrigerator Equipment

The following arrest information was supplied by the Glen Ellyn Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Possession of alcohol by a minor: 13-year-old female brought alcohol to Glencrest Middle School, 725 Sheehan Ave., on Dec. 20 at 12:30 p.m. According to the report, the parents were contacted and the female received school consequences.

Theft over $500: An unknown offender stole three rooftop refrigeration compressors, valued at $4,500, from Dairy Queen, 684 Roosevelt Rd. The incident occurred sometime between 4 p.m. on Dec. 20 and 11 a.m. on Dec. 23.

Retail theft: Two juveniles were obtained after a retail theft at Dominick’s, 880 Roosevelt Rd., on Dec. 18 at 8 a.m. According to the report, the 15-year-old female was charged with felony theft charges, while the 15-year-old male was cited for driving without a license. Margaret Keefer, 74, of Wheaton was cited for allowing an unauthorized person to drive.

Battery: Officers responded to a domestic incident in the 500 block of Duane Street on Dec. 18 at 10:40 a.m. A 16-year-old juvenile was charged with domestic battery.

Battery: Peter J. Kaskas, 22, of Lombard, was issued village citations after being involved in a fight at Alfie’s Inn, 425 Roosevelt Rd., on Dec. 18 at 10:04 p.m. Kaskas was issued citations for battery, criminal damage to property, resisting and obstructing an officer.

No valid driver’s license: Nicholas Bontempo, 26, of Itasca, was issued a traffic citation for driving without a valid license near Roosevelt Road and Royal Glen Drive on Dec. 19 at 3:44 a.m. Bontempo also was cited for speeding.

Panhandling: Wayne Nulicek, 58, of Wheaton, was observed panhandling for money in the 500 block of Crescent Boulevard on Dec. 19 at 9:03 a.m. Nulicek was issued a village citation.

Theft: Wayne Nulicek, 58, of Wheaton, was found in possession of another individual’s wallet near the Union Pacific Tracks and Main Street on Dec. 19 at 9:43 a.m. Nulicek was transported to the police department and issued a citation for public indecency and theft of lost or mislaid property.

Vandalism: An unknown offender spray painted graffiti on three vehicles in the sales lot of Motor World, located at 550 Roosevelt Rd. According to the report, the incident occurred Dec. 19 at 4:07 p.m.

Theft under $500: An unknown offender stole an iPod from a student’s backpack at Glenbard West High School, 670 Crescent Blvd., on Dec. 19 between 2:30 p.m and 4 p.m.

Possession of cannabis: A 17-year-old male was issued two citations for possession of cannabis on Dec. 20 at 3:56 p.m. in the 1100 block of Londonberry Lane in Glen Ellyn.

Retail theft: Kyle P. Smith, 19, of Glen Ellyn, was issued a citation for retail theft at Jewel, 599 Roosevelt Rd., on Dec. 20 at 9:26 p.m.

Theft under $500: Heather A. Grant, 33, of Glen Ellyn, allegedly removed a package sent to a home in the 1100 block of Surrey Drive, sometime between 2 p.m. on Dec. 20 and 10:35 a.m. on Dec. 22. Grant reportedly admitted to taking the package and was issued a citation for theft.

Driving while license suspended: Danita M. Pfeiffer, 36, of Glen Ellyn was issued traffic citations for driving while license suspended, driving an uninsured motor vehicle and operating a vehicle with suspended registration on Dec. 21 at 12:33 p.m. near Lorraine Street and Hill Avenue.

Criminal defacement: An unknown offender spray painted a utility pole near Lake Ellyn Park, 645 Lenox Rd., on Dec. 21 at 7:15 a.m.

Public intoxication: John K. Hanrahan, 19, of Hinsdale, was observed walking in the road way in the 700 block of Roosevelt Road on Dec. 23 at 3:20 a.m. Hanrahan was issued a citation for public intoxication.

Illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor: Michael J. Lopez, 20, of Aurora, was issued a citation for consumption of alcohol by a minor after police responded to a suspicious person report near Main Street and Hillside Avenue on Dec. 23 at 4:29 a.m.

Driving under the influence: Dean W. Lehmann, 44, of Wheaton, was charged with a DUI on Dec. 24 at 2:02 a.m. near Cottage Avenue and Main Street in Glen Ellyn. Lehmann also was issued a citation for a sign violation.

Driving under the influence: David B. Reeves, 21, of Carol Stream, was charged with a DUI on Dec. 24 at 4:02 a.m. near Roosevelt Road and Nicoll Avenue. Reeves also was issued a citation for speeding.

Criminal damage to property: The glass door at the main entrance to Glenbard West High School, 670 Crescent Blvd., was damaged sometime between 9 p.m. and 10:17 p.m. on Dec. 24.

Criminal damage to property: An unknown offender damaged some mailboxes in the 800 block of Saddlewood Drive. The incident occurred sometime between 11:30 p.m. on Dec. 24 and 7:53 a.m. on Dec. 25.

Criminal damage to vehicle: An unknown offender shattered a vehicle’s rear window in the 400 block of Oak Street on Dec. 24 between 5 p.m. and 11 p.m. The car was parked in the driveway of the residence when the window was shattered.
