Fire Damages Park Boulevard Home Friday Afternoon

Firefighters responded to a fire late Friday afternoon in the 100 block of Park Boulevard.

A fire in a single-family home Friday afternoon remains under investigation, according to fire officials.

Officials report there were no injuries in the fire, which took place in a home in the 100 block of Park Boulevard.

The structure fire was reported at 4:48 p.m. and upon arrival members of the Glen Ellyn Volunteer Fire Co. found a home full of smoke and a fire burning inside one of the bedrooms, Craig Eldridge, public information officer for the Glen Ellyn Volunteer Fire Co. said in a news release.

The fire was quickly extinguished and the smoke was cleared, he said. The fire caused significant damage to a bedroom and the hallway.

No one was injured as a result of the fire and the residents were able to evacuate the home safely.

The fire remains under investigation and the cause was undetermined, Eldridge said in the release.
