A Condom Full of Urine at Drug Screening

Troy Stefano DeFilippis, 18, of the 4N800 block of Honey Hill Circle, Wayne, was charged at 9:56 a.m. at 333 N. Randall Road with defrauding drug and alcohol screening tests. According to the report, DeFilippis was caught trying to use a condom filled with urine to submit as his own during a drug-screening test. The person observing DeFilippis told police he knew something was up when he heard what sounded like a balloon-popping sound as DeFilippis He was transferred to the Kane County Jail pending a court appearance.

How Is This Even Possible?

Raul Flores, 29, 4822 W. Belle Plaine Ave., Chicago, was arrested and charged with theft after police saw him riding on a bicycle and carrying a TV at York and Fremont 12:43 p.m. Nov. 5. Police said he gave conflicting stories about where he was going and the origin of the TV. Police said they could not confirm Flore's identity, so he was taken to the police station, where he allegedly told police that the TV was indeed stolen and that he had purchased it from an acquaintance for $30.

53-Foot Truck Trailer Stolen

How do you steal a 53-foot semitrailer? Very carefully. Actually, police say it’s more common than you might think. In this case, the white, enclosed 53-foot trailer with the word "Saturn" written on its front was disappeared from the Party Lite Worldwide Parking lot, 601 Kingland Drive sometime between the morning of Nov. 25 and afternoon of Nov. 26. "I’d love to say it was the first trailer theft this year, but there've been maybe a half dozen," Batavia Detective Sgt. Shawn Mazza said.

When Arrested, Not Smart to Give a False Name

Desmond Commings, 24, of Montgomery might have gotten off with a driving-with-a-suspended charge when he was stopped at 2:17 a.m. Nov. 10 in the 1400 block of South Randall Road. But, according to the complaint in the 16th Circuit Court, Commings “knowingly furnished a false name to Officer Hann, a peace officer, after Officer Hann had lawfully detained the defendant.” Now he’s got an obstructing-justice charge and a court date of Dec. 17 at the Kane County Branch Court, 530 S. Randall Road, St. Charles.

Win 650,000! Or, Buy an Extra-nice Grill For Some Dude on the Phone

A resident of the 700 block of South Fairfield Avenue received a letter in the mail from Publisher's Clearing House, and he called the number on the letter in hopes of winning $650,000. He ended up offering several of his credit card numbers to the person on the phone. He later discovered someone made two unauthorized charges on his MasterCard, for $9,804.60 and $765.55. He said the purchases were made from Grill Town Enterprise out of Canada.

Forgery Suspect Nabbed at Library

Elizabeth Quiroz, 33, of the 4W700 block of James Drive, was charged at 12:35 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013, at the St. Charles Public Library, 1 S. 6th Ave., with two counts of forgery. Police were called to the library by staff who said there were two individuals there using Computer State #1 to alter paycheck stubs. They then would print out fictitious paychecks. When confronted with the results of a police investigation, Quiroz admitted to having financial problems. She was being held in the Kane County Jail pending a court appearance.
