OMG PD: Super Stealer, Chump Change, War on X-Mas Lights

Here's a round-up of recent and bizarre police report items from the area.

ST. CHARLES

Oops! x 3

Shan Robert Jezior, 39, of the 100 block of Wester Street, West Chicago, was charged at 6:51 p.m. Dec. 1 at the St. Charles Police Department with retail theft, and violation of a protection order. According to the report, Jezior tried to steal a 60-inch Sharp Aquos television valued at $1,078 from Walmart, 150 Smith Road. He fled when store employees asked him for a receipt and later was detained by police in West Chicago.

While St. Charles police were processing Jezior, Walmart officials called back to report someone who looked like Jezior had been seen on a store security video from Nov. 29 stealing a 51-inch Samsung high-definition television valued at $584. He admitted to the theft, police said, and was charged with a second count of retail theft.

Jezior was allowed to use the booking phone to call for bond and a ride home, but the officer first warned him not to call his wife because in doing so he would be violating an order of protection. When Jezior’s spouse showed up later to give him a ride, the officer asked her how she knew he needed a ride and she told him Jezior had called her. Jezior then was charged with violating a protection order. Jezior was released on his own recognizance on the retail theft charges out of DuPage County, but was taken to the Kane County Jail pending a court appearance on the protection order violation charge.
