OMG PD: Beer Bottles, Condoms, Boo Boos

Here's a round-up of recent and bizarre police report items from the area.

ST. CHARLES

Young and Drunk

Michael Brian Semmens, 20, of the 500 block of Bradbury Lane, Geneva, was cited at 3:09 a.m. Oct. 21 on the 2500 block of East Main Street with underage alcohol consumption. Police were investigating a telephone report of a drunken driver at a gas station in which the dispatcher believed the caller sounded intoxicated. When police arrived, they found the vehicle bearing the license plates the caller had cited, but the couple in the car did not appear to be intoxicated.

The couple in the car was taking video of Semmens as he walked around their vehicle. The couple told police they were meeting at the gas station when Semmens confronted them, took pictures of their license plates and said he was going to report them for DUI. Semmens was arrested. He posted $150 cash bond and was released to his parents pending a Nov. 15 appearance in Kane County Branch Court.

GENEVA

Beer Upside the Head

Geneva police cited Thomas Grimston, 21, of Batavia for battery and public intoxication after an altercation at 1:59 a.m. Oct. 13 on the sidewalk in the 200 block of West State Street, reports said.

According to reports, Grimston struck the victim in the head with a “12-ounce glass beer bottle partially full with beer.” Grimston was cited under local ordinances and is subject to $50 fines for each offense if paid by the due date.

BATAVIA

Creative Condom Use

Someone extensively toilet-papered the front yard of a home on the 1300 block of McClurg Drive. The incident, reported at 3:51 p.m. Oct. 15, occurred sometime between midnight and 4 a.m. Oct. 12. Condoms were also placed on various items in the front yard.

Maybe It Was A Ghost?

A resident on the 100 block of North Harrison Street heard three different voices outside at about 4:50 a.m. Oct. 14. After the porch light was turned on, the resident heard somebody say "Nobody move." Then the light bulb for the porch light was broken out. No one was seen outside after the incident.

GLEN ELLYN

Driver Caught Making A Pass

Lukasz G. Kociubinski, 24, of the 300 block of South Roselle Road, Schaumburg, was arrested at 8:56 a.m. Oct. 15, Glen Ellyn police said. He was charged with passing a school bus while it was unloading and driving without a license.

NAPERVILLE

Beer Bottle Tantrum

Someone inside a business on Oct. 21 was upset when his friend was kicked out for intoxication. The man then slammed an empty beer bottle on the bar, causing it to shatter and cut his left hand in the 200 block of south Washington Street, police said.

Tape Trap Trouble

A young juvenile and six other juveniles on Oct. 21 were trying to wrap tape from a tree to a light post across Gartner Road near Olesen Drive and watch cars drive through it, police said. One of the juveniles did not run when police arrived and instead helped clean the tape. Parents said they would handle parental discipline. Nothing was damaged or harmed.
