Multiple Reports of Shattered Windows, Damaged Property

The following arrest information was supplied by the Glen Ellyn Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Criminal damage to property: A unknown offender shot out two windows at the Lake Ellyn Boathouse with a BB gun and sprayed graffiti on a park bench. The incident occurred sometime between Oct. 9 and Oct. 12. The damage is estimated at $1,000.  

Criminal damage to vehicle: An unknown offender shot out the rear window of a vehicle with a pellet gun sometime overnight between Oct. 11 and Oct. 12. The car was parked in the driveway of a residence located in the 500 block of Elm Street.

Criminal damage to property: An unknown offender shattered an exterior light near the front door of a residence in the 700 block of Wingate Road on Oct. 10 at 9 p.m. The report says an unknown offender threw something at the light causing it to break.

Illegal consumption of alcohol by minor: Megan E. Schoen, 18, of Glen Ellyn, was arrested on Oct. 9 at 3:13 a.m. for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor near Crescent Boulevard and Forest Avenue. A 17-year-old River Forest female was also arrested for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor.  

Theft under $500: A bicycle that was locked at a bike rack near the Metra train depot, 555 Crescent Blvd., was reported stolen on Oct. 11.

Theft under $500: An unknown offender stole a bicycle from an area near Phillips and Glenwood Avenues on Oct. 8 at 5:55 p.m. The value of the bike is estimated at $100.

Driving while license suspended: Bryan J. Cottone, 48, of Glen Ellyn, was issued traffic citations after being pulled over near Duane Street and Forest Avenue on Oct. 12 at 7:59 p.m. Cottone was issued citations for driving with a suspended driver’s license, uninsured motor vehicle and suspended registration.

No valid driver’s license: Humberto Garcia-Castro, 34, of Lombard was pulled over for speeding near St. Charles Road and Eastern Avenue on Oct. 13 at 1:47 a.m. Garcia-Castro was issued traffic citations for driving without a valid driver’s license, driving an uninsured motor vehicle and speeding.

Possession of cannabis: Socorro Huerta, 25, of Des Plaines, was pulled over for failing to yield at the intersection near Glenwood and Pennsylvania Avenues on Oct. 13 at 8:38 p.m. Huerta was then issued citations for possession of cannabis and possession of drug equipment.

DUI: Dana M. Balicki, 42, of Geneva, was pulled over near Geneva Road and Western Avenue for speeding on Oct. 15 at 2:02 a.m. Balicki was then charged with driving under the influence and was issued a traffic citation for speeding.
