Trains Facing Delays After Pedestrian Hit on Metra Tracks Near Lombard

This is the second incident this week in which a train hit a pedestrian near Lombard.

12:40 p.m. update: 

Original report: A Metra train on the Union-Pacific West line struck a pedestrian around 9:30 a.m. Sunday near Grace Street in Lombard, according to Metra officials. 

An inbound train scheduled to arrive in Chicago at 9:50 a.m. hit the pedestrian and is now halted near the scene of the accident. An outbound train scheduled to arrive at Elburn at 10:06 a.m. is stopped near Villa Park until further notice.

On Sundays, trains are scheduled every two hours, according to Metra officials. It's unclear if the incident will cause further delays.
