Lombard Home Badly Damaged During Monday Morning Fire

Multiple fire units from the surrounding area responded to this morning's fire. No one was injured while battling the blaze.

A Lombard home is uninhabitable after a fire broke out around 9:03 a.m.

Five fire departments battled a blaze this morning in the 500 block of East Washington Street in Lombard. 

When firefighters arrived they saw a first-floor fire that was so intense it was moving to the second floor of the home.

The two residents were unharmed but medics on the scene evaluated them for smoke inhalation. 

Investigators are still at the home trying to determine the cause of the fire.

The home is uninhabitable and the damage is significant, according to a Lombard fire official.
