A round-up of recent court case dispositions in DuPage and Kane counties.

DUPAGE COUNTY

Elmhurst:

A 24-year-old Chicago man has denied charges he held up a gas station. Mario Williams, who is on parole for retail theft, remains in DuPage County Jail on $300,000 bail charged with armed robbery and aggravated robbery.

Police previously said Williams used a semi-automatic handgun while demanding cash from an employee of the Shell Station in the 900 block of North York Road.

Williams was captured after he tried to flee by taking a taxi out of the area. Williams was arraigned during an Oct. 15 hearing, court records show. He returns to court in November.

During an Oct. 11 hearing, attorneys and the judge learned that Georg's treatment while in custody of the Illinois Department of Human Services had restored him to a level that allows him to understand and participate in his defense. Georg is scheduled for an Oct. 24 hearing.

Wheaton:

A 23-year-old Elgin woman faced felony theft and fraud charges after prosecutors accused her of stealing more than $500 from the DuPage County Employees Credit Union.

Hermila Garcia, an employee at the financial institution, took the money in July after falsifying documents that said she transferred the money from her drawer to the vault.

She was indicted last month of two counts each of theft, financial institution fraud and misappropriation of financial institution of property. She returns to court on Nov. 16.

KANE COUNTY

Geneva:

Heavenly Massage has settled its part of a lawsuit filed by a woman who accused a former masseuse at the Geneva location of improperly touching her, according to court records.

Heavenly Massage recently agreed to pay $22,500 to Kristi Schwochow in connection to her 2010 suit, while the case remains ongoing against the massage therapist, Michael Tovrea, records state. Schowchow alleges Tovrea exposed himself and touched her in an uncomfortable manner during a 2008 visit to Heavenly Massage's site in Geneva.

Tovrea pleaded guilty to aggravated battery in a criminal case tied to the incident. In the lawsuit, Schwochow also charged that Heavenly Massage failed to properly screen male massage therapists, according to the suit filed nearly two years ago.
