Juveniles Caught Trespassing at School and Golf Clubs Stolen from Garage

The following arrest information was supplied by the Glen Ellyn Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Curfew: While on patrol, an officer performed a traffic stop near I-355 and Roosevelt Road on Aug. 13 at 1:18 a.m. According to the report, two juveniles in the car were issued citations for violating curfew. The juvenile driving was issued traffic citations for speeding, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, unlawful number of passengers and no license on person.

Public intoxication: Officers responded to a report of a suspicious suspect on Aug. 13 at 3:12 a.m. in the 500 block of Harding Avenue. According to the report, Nicolas D. Sams, 20, of the 500 block of Harding Avenue, Glen Ellyn, was issued citations for public intoxication, possession of cannabis, and illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor.

Criminal trespass to property: Officers responded to a trespass report at Ben Franklin Elementary School, 350 Bryant Ave., on Aug. 13 at 9:27 p.m. According to the report, three juveniles were caught on the roof of the school. Two of the juveniles were issued citations for consumption of alcohol by a person under 21. One of the juveniles fled the area and was later found by the police. That juvenile was issued citations for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor, criminal trespass and resisting an officer. According to Deputy Chief Bill Homer, the juveniles were not drinking on the roof of the elementary school, and had been drinking prior to stepping on school property.

Criminal damage to property: Officers responded to a criminal damage report in the 1200 block of Cheltenham Drive on Aug. 12 at 4:49 p.m. According to the report, an unknown offender damaged a gutter and downspout on an exterior second floor walkway.

Theft over $500: Officers responded to a reported theft near the Metra Train Depot, 555 Crescent Blvd., on Aug. 13 at 2:47 p.m. According to the report, an unknown offender stole a locked bicycle from the bike rack.

Theft under $500 and disorderly contact: While on patrol, officers observed an individual riding a bike along the railroad tracks near Park and Crescent Boulevards on Aug. 13 at 1 a.m. According to the report, Mohammed K. Aleisa, 27, of the 200 block of Elizabeth Road, Lombard, was issued citations for trespassing on railroad property, public intoxication and bicycle theft.

Criminal damage to property: Officers responded to a vandalism report in the 400 block of N. Park Boulevard on Aug. 11 at 8 a.m. According to the report, an unknown offender broke six decorative lights on the west side of the residence. The damaged is estimated at $600.

Retail theft: Officers responded to a theft in progress at The Bike Shop, 495 N. Main St., on Aug. 11 at 1:41 p.m. According to the report, a juvenile stole a multi-purpose tool off the shelf and left the store. The juvenile was then issued a village citation for retail theft.

Burglary to motor vehicle: Officers responded to a reported theft in the 100 block of Crest Road on Aug. 12 at 11 a.m. According to the report, an unknown offender stole a Illinois handicap placard from the vehicle.

Residential Burglary: Officers responded to a burglary report in the 500 block of Stafford Lane on Aug. 8 at 11:59 p.m. According to the report, an unknown offender entered the open garage door and stole two sets of golf clubs along with other miscellaneous items. The estimated loss is valued at $4,200.

Possession of a controlled substance: While on patrol, an officer made contact with Joseph M. Aragones, 23, of the 7100 block of W. 40th Place, Stickney. According to the report, Aragones was charged with possession of a controlled substance and was then transported to DuPage County Jail. According to Deputy Chief Bill Holmer, officers were requested to do a well-being check on Aragones and visited his room at America's Best Value Inn when they seized what appeared to be cocaine.

Retail theft: Officers responded to a reported theft in progress at Dominick’s, 880 Roosevelt Rd., on Aug. 10 at 8:52 p.m. According to the report, a juvenile from Forest Park stole a bottle of alcohol valued at $19.99. The juvenile was issued a citation for possession of alchol by a person under 21 and retail theft.

Criminal damage to property: Officers responded to a damage report at Ackerman Park, 800 W. St. Charles Rd., on Aug. 11 at 12:30 p.m. According to the report, an unknown offender damaged the door handle to the men’s bathroom located at the northwest concession stand.

Driving while license suspended: While on patrol, an officer performed a traffic stop near North Main and Elm Streets on Aug. 7 at 12:06 p.m. According to the report, Jesse J. DePirro Jr., 42, of the 700 block of Lippert Lane, Glendale Heights, was issued a traffic citation for driving with a suspended license.

Retail theft: Officers responded to a reported theft at Malloy’s Finest Wines and Spirits, 580 Roosevelt Rd., on Aug. 8 at 1:01 p.m. According to the report, an unknown offender stole a bottle of alcohol valued at $35.99.

Theft under $500: Officers responded to a reported theft at the Glen Ellyn Public Library, 400 Duane St., on Aug. 8 at 6:50 p.m. According to the report, an unknown offender stole a locked bicycle from the bike rack. The estimated loss is valued at $250.

Driving under the influence: While on patrol, an officer performed a traffic stop near Pennsylvania and Glenwood Avenues on Aug. 8 at 11:09 p.m. According to the report, McKenzie G. Keenon, 25, of the 2100 block of Glencoe Street, Wheaton, was charged with driving under the influence and was issued a traffic citation for improper lane usage.
