A DuPage County judge has ruled a Glen Ellyn man who has been arrested numerous times in the last year will be denied bond until he undergoes a psychiatric evaluation.
Christopher Shukin, 22, of the 400 block of Hill Avenue, was most recently arrested in November in Glen Ellyn in connection with public indecency. In October, he was arrested in Wheaton after being tasered. He was charged with criminal trespassing, disorderly conduct—breach of peace, disorderly conduct—peeping Tom and resisting arrest.
Shukin has been arrested 10 times since November 2011, according to a story in the Daily Herald. At a court hearing Dec. 27, Judge John Kinsella ordered that Shukin be fitted with a monitoring device. He was not in court that day and was being treated at Linden Oaks Hospital in Naperville, the story said.
Another hearing was held Monday, when Kinsella determined Shukin would be held without bond. Kinsella said he would consider setting bail dependent upon results of a psychiatric evaluation, according to a story in the Daily Herald.
