Glen Ellyn Volunteer Fire Company Elects New Chief

Fire company elects Jim Bodony to serve as the new Fire Chief in Glen Ellyn.

From the Glen Ellyn Volunteer Fire Department:

The members of the Glen Ellyn Volunteer Fire Company voted to elect longtime member Jim Bodony to the position of Fire Chief during their monthly business meeting. Chief Bodony replaces Jeff Buccola who will continue to serve the Fire Company as an Assistant Chief. This election takes place each April.

Chief Bodony is a 40 year veteran of the Fire Company and retired in March 2009 from the Oak Brook Fire Department where he spent 37 years and was the Fire Chief from July 2005 until his retirement.

Chief Bodony is a lifelong resident of Glen Ellyn; he attended St. Petronille Catholic School and Glenbard West High School.  He is married to Lynne, a retired District 41 school teacher and they have two grown children Tim and Becky. Chief Bodony is a veteran of the United States Air Force.
