Glen Ellyn Man Accused of Inappropriately Touching 2 Girls at St. Charles Target

Nicholas E. Muniz, 24, faces battery and disorderly conduct charges following an investigation by St. Charles Police officers.

A Glen Ellyn man was arrested Sunday afternoon for allegedly "inappropriately" touching two minor girls on two separate occasions at a St. Charles retail store.

Nicholas E. Muniz, 24, of Glen Ellyn was charged May 13 with two counts of battery and two counts of disorderly conduct for inappropriate contact with a 16 and 14-year-old girl at Target, 3885 E. Main St., St. Charles. After reports of the touching incidents on May 11 and 12 were filed, St. Charles officers contacted Target loss prevention officers who reviewed store videos and were able to provide suspect and vehicle information.

St. Charles officers set up surveillance on May 13 and saw a man and vehicle matching Muniz' description pull into the store parking lot. Officers ran the license plates and found the car was registered to Muniz. Muniz was taken into custody without incident on May 13 as he exited the store Sunday afternoon. Muniz was transported to the St. Charles Police Department. He was booked and released on bond.

The reports have been forwarded to the Kane County State's Attorney's Office for further review. Investigation into the case continues and police are trying to determine if Muniz was involved in a similar touching incident at a Wheaton Target store on May 12. However, St. Charles officers report Muniz' car contained property from the Wheaton store.
