Female Charged with Battery at Jewel

The following arrest information was supplied by the Glen Ellyn police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

DUI: Officers responded to a reported drunk driver on May 15 at 4 a.m. According to the report, Zenon Chelpa, 55, of Bloomingdale was charged with driving under the influence in 700 block of Roosevelt Road. 

Criminal Trespass: Officers responded to a reported trespassing in the 300 block of Duane Street on May 15 around 7:30 a.m. According to the report, Matthew R. Polacheck, 29 of Wheaton was found sleeping in the resident's basement. Polacheck was charged with criminal trespass and was served a notice of trespass letter. 

Theft: Officers responded to a reported theft in the 600 block of North Park Boulevard on May 15 around 5 p.m. According to the report, an unknown offender entered a residence with an unlocked garage and stole two mountain bikes. The bikes were valued at less than $300.

Theft: Officers responded to a reported theft at Parkview Elementary School, 250 South Park Blvd., on May 16 at 3:30 p.m. According to the report, an unknown offender stole an unlocked Diamondback bicycle from the school, which was valued at less than $300.

No valid driver's license: Officers responded to a minor traffic accident in near Roosevelt Road and Baker Hill Drive on May 16 at 4:03 p.m. According to the report, Refugio J. Soto-Garcia, 29 of West Chicago was issued traffic citation for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and no valid driver's license.

Criminal damage to vehicle: Officers responded to a damaged vehicle in the 800 block of Hillside Avenue on May 17 at 8:30 a.m. According to the report, an unknown offender scratched the passenger-side door. 

Criminal damage to vehicle: Officers responded to a damaged vehicle in the 400 block of North Park Boulevard on May 19 at 2:45 p.m. According to the report, an unknown offender damaged the level and pulled wires to enter the trunk area. The damage is estimated at $250. 

Burglary to motor vehicle: Officers responded to a burglary of a motor vehicle on May 18 at 8 a.m. According to the report, an unknown offender gained entry into the unlocked vehicle in the 200 block of Ott Avenue and stole a gift card. 

Theft: An officer on duty at Glenbard West High School, 670 Crescent Blvd., was advised by a complainant that an unknown offender stole an envelope of money from her office on May 9 at 11:20 a.m. According to the report, the amount of cash was less than $300. 

Criminal damage to property: Officers responded to a criminal damage report at Glencrest Middle School, 725 Sheehan Road, on May 19 at 8 p.m. According to the reort, an unknown offender scratch a car's front driver's side door. 

Consumption of alcohol by a minor: Officers responded to a report of an intoxicated female in the 400 block of North Main Street. According to the report, the Bloomingdale juvenile was issued a citation for consumption of alcohol by a person under 21. 

Obstruction of identification: While on patrol, an officer observed Pasquel Soto Perez, 35, of Addison driving with his hazard lights on at 9:33 p.m., on May 20 at Roosevelt Road and Nicoll Way. Perez said he was having mechanical problems with his vehicle. The officer charged Perez with obstructing identification after being issued citations for driving with a revoked driver's license and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. 

Public intoxication: Officers responded to a suspicious subject in the 500 block of Crescent Boulevard on May 21 at 5:36 p.m. According to the report, Robert L. Schnable, 51 of Wheaton was issued a citation for public intoxication. 

Battery: Officers responded to a reported battery at the Jewel, 599 Roosevelt Rd., on May 21 at 5:57 p.m. According to the report, Linda G. Stahl, 50, of Glen Ellyn hit the male complainant and was charged with one count of battery. 

Consumption of alcohol by a minor: While on patrol at the Taste of Glen Ellyn, an officer made contact with an intoxicated juvenile on May 21 at 8:43 p.m. According to the report, the male was issued citations for consumption of alcohol by a minor and possession of alcohol by a minor.

Aggravated DUI: While on on patrol, an officer performed a traffic stop on May 21 at 11:45 p.m. in the 400 block of Roosevelt Road. According to the report, Douglas L. Rogers, 31, of Warrenville was charged with driving under the influence and possession of cannabis. Rogers was also issued traffic citations for speeding and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. 

Criminal damage to property: Officers responded to a damaged property in the 400 block of North Park Boulevard at 1:30 a.m. on May 22. According to the report, an unknown offender knocked over metal sculpture, which broke into several pieces.
