DUIs, Domestic Battery Reports Fill Police Blotter

The following arrest information was supplied by the Glen Ellyn police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Criminal damage to property: Officers responded to Sunset Pool, 483 Fairview Ave., on June 4 at 11 a.m. A complainant advised officers that an unknown offender damaged the window near the main entrance. 

Obstructing identification: Officers responded to an accident near Roosevelt and Lambert Roads on June 4 at 12:28 p.m. According to the report, Victor A. Olivares-Bautista, 26, of West Chicago, gave officers a false name. Olivares-Bautista was charged with one count for obstructing identification and transported to DuPage County Jail for an outstanding arrest warrant. 

Criminal trespass to property: Officers responded to a trespass at Sunset Pool, 483 Fairview Ave., on June 3 at 2:20 a.m. According to the report, four Glen Ellyn individuals were found inside the pool area; Theodore G. Cheney, 21; Adelaide E. Lupo, 21; Sean G. McGee, 22; and Alexander B. McElvain, 21, were all issued citations for trespassing.

Theft over $500: Officers responded to a theft in the 500 block of Hill Avenue on June 4 at 12:57 p.m. According to the report, an unknown offender entered the unlocked garage and stole a mountain bike valued at $600. 

Theft over $500: A complainant reported a theft that occurred on June 1 around 9:30 p.m. According to the report, an unknown offender stole his golf bag, which was left with several other bags outside of the clubhouse at Village Links, 485 Winchell Way. The value of the stolen goods is estimated at $1,620.

Possession of cannabis: An officer on duty at Glenbard West High School, 670 Crescent Blvd., was notified of a juvenile in possession of cannabis. According to the report, the female juvenile was issued a citation for possession of cannabis and released to a parent on May 31 at 10:45 a.m.

Possession of cannabis: While on patrol an officer performed a traffic stop near Bloomingdale Road and Glen Arbor Court on June 3 at 7:52 p.m. According to the report, Bryan A. Cascallares, 34, of Elk Grove, was issued traffic citations for operation of a motor vehicle when registration is suspended for non-insurance, illegal transportation of alcohol, and possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of cannabis. 

Public intoxication: Officers responded to a public intoxication report in the 400 block of Main Street on May 31 at 10:35 p.m. According to the report, Victor D. Hernandez, 36, of Glen Ellyn would not leave the premises. Hernandez was issued a citation for public intoxication and open alcohol in public. He was also charged with obstructing identification. Hernandez was transported to DuPage County Jail for an outstanding arrest warrant. 

No valid driver's license: While on patrol, an officer performed a traffic stop at Roosevelt Road and Baker Hill Drive. According to the report, Guadalupe Vasquez, 44, of Cicero, was issued a citation for improper lane usage and no driver's license.

No valid driver's license: While on patrol, an officer performed a traffic stop near St. Charles Road and Eastern Avenue on June 1 at 2:47 p.m. According to the report, Josue O. Morales-Vargas, 18, of Lombard, was issued citations for speeding and no driver's license.  

DUI: While on patrol, an officer performed a traffic stop at Park Avenue and Taft Road on May 29 at 1:35 a.m. According to the report, William J. Murphy, 27, of Glen Ellyn, was charged with driving under the influence and issued traffic citations for improper lane usage and operating an uninsured motor vehicle and failure to signal. 

DUI: While on patrol, officers performed a traffic stop in the 1200 block of Roosevelt Road on May 29 at 2:50 a.m. According to the report, Vishal Kumar, 24, of Lombard, was charged with driving under the influence. 

DUI: Officers responded to the 500 block of Pershing Avenue on June 1 at 4:41 a.m., in reference to loud music. According to the report, Manuel E. Salazar, 31, of Glen Ellyn, was in the driver's seat listening to loud music. While speaking, officers detected a strong odor of alcohol. Salazar was charged with driving under the influence and transported to DuPage County Jail for an outstanding warrant.

Domestic Battery: Officers responded to a battery report in the 600 block of Roosevelt Road on May 31 at 2:47 a.m. According to the report, Renaldo E. Lee, 32, of Glen Ellyn, was charged with domestic battery and criminal damage to property. Lee was then transported to DuPage County Jail. 

Domestic battery: Officers responded to a battery report in the 500 block of Pershing Avenue on June 4 at 4:15 p.m. According to the report, Jusepe Ashku, 38, of Glen Ellyn, was charged with domestic battery and transported to DuPage County Jail. 

Domestic battery: Officers responded to a battery report in the 600 block of Roosevelt road on June 4 at 5:50 p.m. According to the report, Kevin Wilson, 38, of Tennessee, was charged with domestic battery and transported to DuPage County Jail. 

Domestic battery: Officers responded to a battery report on June 1 at 5:24 p.m., in the 1100 block of Royal Glen Drive. According to the report, a male juvenile was taken to a juvenile detention center after being charged with domestic battery
