DUI Roundup: Glen Ellyn Second Only to Elmhurst in Number of Arrests Reported Last Week

Driving-under-the-influence charges reported in the week prior to Nov. 9 in Patch towns throughout the west suburbs.

BATAVIA


NOV. 3: Batavia police arrested Adam C. Bennel, 22, of Batavia on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, DUI with a blood-alcohol content of .08 or more, improper lane usage and operating an uninsured motor vehicle, according to a report filed at 1::21 a.m. Nov. 3. He posted his driver’s license and $100 bond and has a court date of Nov. 20.

NOV. 3: Batavia police arrested Helen Rodas-Garcia, 29, of Batavia on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and improper lane change, according to a report filed at 10:22 p.m. Nov. 3. She posted her driver’s license and has a court date of Nov. 20. Also during the Rodas-Garcia arrest, police arrested Eric Calvillo, 41, of Batavia on charges of resisting or obstructing a police officer causing injury and two counts of resisting or obstructing a police officer. He was transported to the Kane County Jail and was awaiting bond call at the time the report was filed.

OCT. 28: Batavia police arrested Sam Cinquegrani, 38, of Melrose Park on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of drugs, driving with a suspended or revoked license, driving on the right side of the roadway, according to a report at 9:35 a.m. Oct. 28. He was transported to the Kane County Sheriff’s Office for bond call.

DARIEN


OCT. 20: Kyle Rhoden, 18, of the 0-100 block of Ingleshire in Montgomery, was charged with driving under the influence, improper lane usage and making an improper turn at an intersection at 3:08 a.m. in the 1200 block of 75th Street. He was processed and released with a court date.

OCT.  19: Paul Garcy, 41, of the 17W600 block of Concord in Darien, was charged with disorderly conduct, driving under the influence, illegal transportation of liquor and driving with a defective windshield following a traffic stop at 9:37 p.m. in the 1800 block of Frontage Road. Garcy was released and given a court date.

DOWNERS GROVE

ELMHURST


NOV. 3: Agustin Delgado, 38, 4446 W. Deming, Chicago, was arrested and charged with DUI after police received a call about an intoxicated driver at 4:10 a.m. Police said a passerby was able to remove the keys from his Gray Toyota 4Runner. He was taken into custody and released on bond.


NOV. 2:

  • Lionel Lucas, 50, 1755 N. Natchez Ave., Chicago, was arrested and charged with DUI and possession of suspect crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia after police pulled over his white Toyota Camry for speeding and no rear registration plate light at Clinton and North Avenue at 1:59 a.m. He was taken to DuPage County Jail.

  • Jose Figueroa, 26, 1009 W. Hilton, Addison, was arrested and charged with DUI, driving without a license and driving without insurance after police pulled over his blue Ford F150 for improper lane use at Grand Avenue and Interstate 290 at 12:02 a.m. He was released on bond.

  • Marko Pantelic, 26, 194 N. Clare Court, Wood Dale, was arrested and charged with DUI after police pulled over his silver Mercedes-Benz S500 for failure to signal at St. Charles and Arlington at 1:20 a.m. He was released on bond.

  • Jill Kovar, 31, 5939 Pershing Ave., Downers Grove, was arrested and charged with DUI after police pulled over her black Ford Edge for improper lane use at St. Charles and Route 83 at 2:02 a.m. She was released on bond.

  • Kimberly Bianchi, 25, 195 E. North Ave., Elmhurst, was arrested and charged with DUI and possession of cannabis after police pulled over her silver Hyundai Elantra for speeding, improper lane use and following too closely at St. Charles and Villa at 2:21 a.m. She was released on bond.

  • Anthony Williams, 35, 130 E. George St. Apt. 530, Bensenville, was arrested and charged with DUI and possession of cannabis after police found him sleeping behind the wheel of his brown Buick LeSabre at York and Crestview at 2:49 a.m. He was released on bond.


  • NOV. 1: Joshua Johnson, 25, 306 Farview, North Aurora, was arrested and charged with DUI and driving without insurance after police pulled over his white Ford E150 for no headlights and wrong-way driving at Addison and Second at 12:58 a.m. He was released on bond.

    OCT. 31: Christian Cheffer, 51, 146 Fairfield, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and illegal transportation of alcohol after police found him sitting in his silver Chevrolet 300 with the engine running in the parking lot behind 537 S. York Road at 7:21 p.m.


    GENEVA


    OCT. 30 — Geneva police arrested Ryan O’Brien, 29, of Lombard on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, DUI with a blood-alcohol content of .08 or more and failure to dim headlights for an approaching vehicle after a traffic stop around 1:12 a.m. Oct. 30 in the 400 block of West State Street, reports said. He has a court date of Nov. 20 at the Kane County Judicial Center, 37W777 Randal Road.



    GLEN ELLYN


    NOV. 1:

    • Jeffrey A. Roegner, 28, 363 Sandhurst Circle, Glen Ellyn, was arrested and charged with DUI after police pulled him over for improper lane use and expired registration at 12:47 a.m.

  • Robert W. Truex, 54, 2426 Legacy Drive, Aurora, was arrested and charged with DUI after police pulled him over for failure to signal at 4:23 a.m.

  • Ilze Blanken, 64, 325 W. St. Charles Road, Lombard, was arrested and charged with DUI after police a stop for improper lane use at DuPage and Carleton at 9:37 p.m.

  • OCT. 30 — Cynthia R. O'Neill, 65, 852 Saddlewood Drive, Glen Ellyn, was arrested and charged with DUI after her vehicle was involved in a collision at Park and Roosevelt at 7:41 p.m.

    OCT. 27 — Molly A. Dixon, 22, 17 Sunset, Glen Ellyn, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding, improper turn and driving without insurance after police pulled her over at Roosevelt and Sunset at 1:53 a.m.

    OCT. 26 — John Thomson Frey, 24, 262 Taylor Ave., Glen Ellyn, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol at Lambert and Wilson at 5:45 a.m.


    HINSDALE

    LEMONT

    NOV. 3: Charles A. Landgren, 36, 408 E. North St., Lockport, was arrested at 3:24 a.m. for driving under the influence of alcohol and operating an uninsured motor vehicle following a traffic stop in the 400 block of Talcott Avenue. He was issued a Dec. 4 court date at the Bridgeview Courthouse.

    OCT. 28: John K. Stiegler, 41, 25133 Constitution Court, Plainfield, was arrested at 12:36 a.m. for driving under the influence of alcohol, leaving the scene of an accident, improper lane usage and improper passing at an intersection following an incident at Archer Avenue and McCarthy Road. He was issued a Dec. 2 court date at the Bridgevíew Courthouse.

    NAPERVILLE


    NOV. 1: Gerald Matthew Humphrey, 22, of Plainfield, was arrested at 5:58 a.m. near Washington Street and East 75th Street, police said. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. He posted bond.

    NOV. 1: Bryan Charles Long, 27, of Oswego, was arrested at 11:23 p.m. near Chicago Avenue and South Sleight Street, police said. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. He posted bond.

    NOV. 2: Melissa Ann Sengenberger, 26, of Bolingbrook, was arrested at 1:22 a.m. near Wehrli Road and Hobson Road, police said. She was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. She posted bond.  


    ST. CHARLES


    NOV. 2: Ramiro Rangel, 26, of the 1500 block of Indiana Street, was arrested at 12:45 a.m. on the 600 block of West Main Street on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, DUI with a blood-alcohol concentration greater than .08, driving on a suspended license, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, no insurance, and improper lane use. He also was arrested on a Kane County warrant for failure to appear in court on a charge of driving on a suspended driver’s license. Rangel’s blood-alcohol concentration registered .227. He posted $300 cash bond and was ordered to appear in court Nov. 27, 2013 on the DUI and traffic charges. He posted $500 cash bond and a $75 failure to appear in court fee on the Kane County warrant, with a notice to appear in court Nov. 19, 2013.

    NOV. 1: Stephen Mattyas Szegfu, 47, of the 1900 block of Moore Avenue, St. Charles, was charged at 9:45 p.m. on the 200 block of Illinois Avenue with driving under the influence of alcohol, and improper lane use. He posted his driver’s license and $300 cash bond and was released pending a Dec. 19, 2013 court appearance.


    WHEATON


    NOV. 3: Jack A. Pietrus, 24, of the 1600 block of County Farm Road, Wheaton, was arrested at 9:50 p.m. at Main Street and Roosevelt Road on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol. He posted bond and was released pending a court appearance.

    NOV. 2: Rebecca A. Tomlitz, 28, of the 0S700 block of East Street, Winfield, was arrested at 1:54 a.m. at Delles and Roosevelt roads on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, and no insurance. She posted bond and was released pending a court appearance.

    NOV. 1: Chavez D. Jones, 22, Wheaton Center Apartments, Wheaton, was arrested at 5 a.m. at Geneva Road and Kenilworth Avenue on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol. He posted bond and was released pending a court appearance.

    NOV. 1: Eric A. Woods, 19, of the 1700 block of East 22nd St., was arrested at 1:24 a.m. on the 1900 block of Briarcliffe Boulevard on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol. He posted bond and was released pending a court appearance.

    Oct. 30: Ghanshyam I. Vyas, 41, of the 2300 block of Legacy Drive, Aurora, was arrested at 9:46 p.m. at Belleau Woods Drive and Shaffner Road on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, illegal transportation of liquor, no insurance, and property damage only accident. He posted bond and was released pending a court appearance.



    WOODRIDGE


    OCT. 27: Bradley Bartuch, 22, of the 1000 block of Prairie Avenue in Lake Forest, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following a traffic stop at 3:13 a.m. in the 3700 block of Hobson.

    OCT. 24: Patrick Constante, 22, of the 8000 block of Rutherford Drive in Woodridge, was charged with drag racing and driving under the influence of alcohol following a traffic incident at 1:40 a.m. near Woodward Avenue and 83rd Street.
