A 4-year-old boy is dead and three people, including two other children, were hurt in a one-vehicle rollover on southbound I-55 early Sunday near Bolingbrook, Illinois State Police said.

The boy, identified by the Will County Coroner's office as Taylor Dyer of Romeoville, was pronounced dead after being ejected from the vehicle during the crash, which occurred near mile marker 269 at around 2:03 a.m.

Illinois State Police Sgt. Scott Angus said four people were in a 2012 Dodge Journey when it struck the center median and rolled over.

The driver of a semi-trailer witnessed the crash and pulled over to provide assistance, but the semi was not involved in the crash, Angus said.

The driver of the Dodge, a 29-year-old Romeoville man, is in custody at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital on a charge of aggravated DUI, Angus said.

Two other children, who were in the back seat of the vehicle, are hospitalized for critical but non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
